The current Supra outsold the A80 handily. This is no longer surprisingly low even for the era of the pandemic.

@titomatias1576 - doesn't exactly work that way. For one, Toyota specifically asked for a straight-6. I suggest comparing the advantages and disadvantages of both that engine and V-type configurations. As for going with the Nissan route, remember the current Z uses a modified version of the previous 370 chassis, which compromised its performance in some metrics. On the other hand, Toyota and BMW jointly developed a more-purpose-built platform just for the Supra and Z4. And besides, Nissan doesn't exactly have the resources.

@iLouieTube - to call the garbage is not only stupid, but also hurts the general fanbase by reducing the chances for another car appearing to succeed it.

@spaceoner1 - I wouldn't suggest saying, "they should use X..." If Toyota asks for a straight-6, they'll get a straight-6. Besides, do you know about the advantages and disadvantages of the straight-6 and V6 configurations?

BMW isn't even using their Z4 to race with, whereas the GR Supra gets a GT4 Evo version this year after a fruitful 2022 with its win in the DTM Trophy. Besides, even the CEO of Toyota drove the car during the 2019 24 Hours of the Nurburgring.
