  6.  @Hello_there_obi  - let's be realistic here: the 2JZ hasn't been in production for quite a while. That would require retooling a factory to produce it, which is expensive even for one car. The engine itself would also need extensive modifications to meet emissions and performance requirements, which is also expensive aside from time-intensive. Besides, would this alread be considered a JZ engine? Besides, their "greatest ever sportscar" wasn't actually recived quite fondly back when it was on sale. Finally, Japan's economy is not the same as it was in the late 20th century. The Japanese bubble economy popped in the 90's, wiping out all but a handful of the famous sports cars from the lineup.

  7.  @Hello_there_obi  - you cannot exactly use Lambo's V12 for the comparison. The JZ had been used in Toyota's other cars including the Altezza, Aristo, Chaser, Crown, Soarer, among others. Yes, the Supra has the status and following. The problem here is that people forget the other aspects of the car's history.
