Algae and phytoplankton do more carbon capture than the amazon rainforest (the oceans being bigger than the land mass) and they really don’t like being outside their preferred acidity levels. If they all die due to conditions changing faster than they evolve you get what is known as a climate tipping point. And then you’re dead.
