In order for war to occur both sides need to think they can "win". It almost seems like Ukraine and the West have two different ideas of what winning means. Ukraine wants its land back right now, which is totally correct when you're being invaded. The West's drip feed of support makes sense if the West's goal is to make the Russians think they can win, and so chew up more and more and more Russian blood and treasure regardless of the damage to Ukraine. The West still has the United States Dollar as a magic money machine to outspend Russia in the "Third Offset Strategy" and so the West's plan might actually work and break the back of the BRICS economy. But Ukraine is now in the awkward position of being a whole country sent to die in a rich man's war. In order to make Ukraine whole again, returning Ukraine's land is not enough. Russia has to break up and Ukraine needs to be able to keep pieces of Russia. The Former Russian States will then act as a much needed buffer between The West and China.
