  3. 10:38 Task and Purpose has a video on the Chinese "Hunting Eagle" Recon Gyrocopter- armed with four TOW missile clones, it costs USD$5000 and a crew takes 10 hours to train. It has range to circle Taiwan and absolutely no armour whatsoever. The idea seems to be that the EW environment will be so saturated that they plan on flying thousands of these manned platforms, asking the pilot and gunner crew to note what they see on a piece of paper and return alive to report in person.

  4. The book "shoot don't shoot" by dirk maclean has an analysis of what was going on in the Tactical Information Center of the USS Vincennes when they shot down Iran Air 655. Apparently either taping the list of scheduled departures securely to the bulkhead so it wouldn't fall down during the surface combat engagement with the iranian navy, or moving out of the civilian air traffic corridor, would have prevented mistaking the airliner for an iranian Tomcat.
