  24. Somebody should invent a 5-axis cnc cold hammer forging machine. Put in a billet and a claw thing with a hammer on one jaw and an anvil surface on the other jaw pinches the metal into shape. The jaws would need to be made of something amazingly strong and the actuator would need to be superhero strong and light, but you only need one machine at whatever cost to make lots of parts.

You could even eliminate the plunger by having a barrel that is kept safe by a steel spacer, and when you want to go loud, you pull away the spacer and the impact of the barrel hitting the face drives the barrel to crush the primed cartridge rim and fires the weapon.
