  1. Interesting, so at some electron temperature in (MeV) the lines DO touch and a runaway nitrogen fusion is possible. You just need a bigger bomb.

  3. Wait, why didn't they just do the first nuclear test underground and determine how much of the yield could be explained by the fusion of the surrrounding nitrogen? They knew it was more difficult to fuse heavier elements and the ground is full of heavy metals that are largely inert?
