  1. In 1930 we did the same thing to Japan with the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act, and Japan being unable to trade for oil decided to fly to Pearl Harbour and give us a piece of their mind.

  2.  @JohnJaneson2449  the federal reserve could have just did less intervention to prevent the Great Depression (like the minor depression in 1921). If we buy a world war, we need to consider what it will cost.
