  3.  @krish4134  prc? Does china have enough people in this generation to sustain its superpower status? What about the aftermath of the one child policy? Is china willing to risk war and deal with all the consequences it entails? Do you even know the consequence of nuclear war in this region, that too with the recent abundance of natural calamities throughout the world? A conventional war in the himalayas will however not bode very well for both sides. The odds are not in the chinese favour due to the nature of the terrain, logistical problems, etc. while the Indian army is willing to apply equal pressure to the chinese and call the chinese bluff. The very act of sustaining sea level dwelling mainland chinese soldiers in high altitude regions of tibet is challenging now for the chinese pla, that i doubt they will fare well in a conventional war. China hopes to wear out the India at one more point, opening another front in ladakh and arunachal pradesh. Unfortunately this effort merely empowers the current regime at finding defense solutions at a much more random pace, as well as take more drastic measures. Also china is now facing security threat from pakistan and afghanistan, dealing with a corrupt pakistani regime and difficulties in the CPEC projects due to the instabilities in the region and global pressure on the uyghur problem in xinjiang. As for south china sea, that dispute seems to be not in china's favour, but more importantly china doesnt seem to desire an amicable or mutually beneficial solution, but rather seems to pick fights merely as a engine for creating nationalism. India has always wanted to befriend the chinese people, but the circumstances have led to a multipolar world where a great balancing act is required by a great many countries including India. China attacking India will unfortunately be more harmful than helpful to china's grand strategy against the usa.
