Humans can only progress if he understands the customs and traditions of the past and builds up on it instead of discarding everything for the sake of 'revolutions'

Have you actually searched under every crevice and rock, every far fetched galaxy, the heart of every celestial body,etc for god? have you searched everywhere and found him absent to conclude so scientificlly that there is no god. The modern world is full of idiots whose education is seen as enlightenment instead of the mental conditioning it is... Logic is absent in them and the existence of death and suffering is apparently enough to disprove god? Perhaps the divine approves of suffering too, is that not a possibility?

@nag p Try reading history 1st. I don't support manuvaad, i support thinkers and philosophers like buddha, shankaracharya, bhasavanna, etc, who at different points of time said caste system in it's nepotistic form war wrong. Shankaracharya had a famous encounter with Lord Shiva disguised as a Chandala, and realised that the soul and the divine were of the same thing.That was the basis for Advaita. Or look up the leaders of the Bhakti movement which significantly replaced the intellectual and philosophical aspects of hinduism- they came from all professional backgrounds. Hinduism is not just casteism and conventional casteism, and the most objectionable thing about later vedic casteism is it's disregard of merit for the purpose of nepotism. Those aspects can be reformed instead of discarding the entire religion through social change. If your saree gets dirty, you try to wash off the dirt first instead of burning the saree as a whole and buying a new one. Atleast that's how middle class normal people do things...

@surajmaurya2553 Yes, that's why i said 'understanding traditions' but anti-traditionalists are stupid enough to believe that if every trdition is abolished, world will be saved. They don't see how traditions are useful and necessary for society, or realise traditions aren't eternal and were created by human soociety. Traditions will exist as long as society does, but stupid 'revolutionaries' can't see that...

Read how the racial theory of the british classified Indians as aryanss and dravidians. Read how caste identites were more fluid in the past, though not as fluid as demanded by modern standards. Read about Kerala renaissance if you can. Swami Vivekananda called Kerala a 'madhouse' for extreme caste practices, then reformers like Ayyankali and Sree Narayanaguru led political movements to change that. It wasn't the Communists or Left that did this, no economic revolution did it, but the active reasoned efforts of social reformers, opposing manuvaad by educating the depressed castes, showing the other castes that anyone could perform well if properly nurtured. Now read on what the BJP is doing, they first replaced caste politics of congress, BSP, SP, etc with communal politics. Now they are in power, they need to reduce communalism to invite FDI, and now from Communalism, the gear is shifted into Nationalism and Anti-pakistan. Muslims won't be appeased to maintain a continuous narrative, but also bcause appeasement failed to have a trickle down effect and reach the poorer Muslims. Now nationalism is the flame bieng used to bind India together, and with China on the rise, it might work out. Things are much more complicated than you think dear....

@imayavarambannedunjezhiyan5222 I don't know entire history, but thanks for increasing my knowledge. The only irrefutable truth abouth hinduism is that it is not monolithic, and frankly I find the task of reading/unnderstanding 3500+ years of history extremely intimidating...

@nag p i am not blaming the europeans for everything, but merely pointed out that the caste system became much more discriminatory under the british raj. As for skin color, it was never a basis for caste before the British came. Krishna was dark skinned, and dark skinned brahmins existed in south india centuries before the british came. Lord tirupathi is dark skinned etc. As for ramayana and mahabharata, there are a thousand versions of them written over many centuries generations after generations depending on the society of that age. Nevertheless, supporting hinduism is not equal to supporting manuvaadh, and even puranas can be tolerated in a sane society. Censoring the past for the sake of the present is a recipe for disaster, and the person who fails to learn history is doomed to repeat it. Again read the entire wikipedia article i gave you, things are much more complicated than putting entire blame of reviving manuvaadh on shankaraharya.
