@KunalKumar-np4ig apostasy is also punishable by death as per the same quran. The year is 2020 not 600 AD. The quran is not over and above the indian constitution and right to religion is a fundamental right...

@ayanverma5746 please search and find which is the fastest growing city in asia in terms of population? Its a city called malappuram in 100 percent literate kerala. Also guess the community that dominates the district? I'll give you a hint, its Indias largest minority community...

@ayanverma5746 nice logic there, does that mean we should ignore a 44 percent increase in population of places like malappuram and act only when things go well beyond control? Also i dont care for the north south divide as much as you do since its all bharat to me, but the law should be nationally applied because states like UP and bihar face similar asymmetric growth of communities as they have been since independence. This further drags down the development of both the state and the community...

@barretofrancis2900 Thats like an Indian saying "thank aryabhatta for trignimetry". While the contributions of the above person have been invaluable to humanity, there is no need to invoke him/her every time a modern iteration of a similar concept is discussed....

@KunalKumar-np4ig according to common sense, people could be wrong, and to the best of my understanding the prophet fits the definition of people...

Bibin Thomas i am a bharateeya, i just happen to know malayalam and happen to be born in a state in the republic of india, which is the current form of this civilisation. If a girl is deceived into elopement, marries thinking everything will be fine, but is then pressurised by the family of the groom to convert, that is a crime. So why the hell are you so bothered that an increasing number of such cases have prompted a government to legislate on the issue? A persons right to religion gives them the freedom to change their faith of their own volition due to spiritual reasons. Any suppression of this right must be prevented at all costs to uphold individual rights granted by the constitution

@barretofrancis2900 what is the tfr of mallapuram and kozikode?

@ayanverma5746 would that be a purely geographical analysis or a community based analysis? Even if its a geographical analysis, it would impact some communities more than others. But that doesnt mean that india should solve problems as they arise. Instead as a country we should set national goals, pursue redistribution of populations, etc. as sustainable development goals...

Sadly there was an asymmetry between the governments resources and institutions and that of the missionaries.. i believe it was due to something called colonisation, due to which India took 2 decades to be truly self sufficient in terms of food. Even in that situation India didnt take the china route of hunting wildlife, if it had, maybe we might have a few more pandemics....
2
@KunalKumar-np4ig yes, but thankfully the law and the constitution must be implemented, and has been implemented for decades irrespective of total understanding by all sections of the populace...

Deep Malya that can be classified and accommodated, and the judges of the supreme court tend to be wise enough to extend legal protection to any group by classifying them to have the same rights as a religious denomination. Hinduism isnt a religion as per the supreme court but enjoys the right of religious denomination without actually fitting the definition of religion. Its reasons like these that we have judges and not a jury system, coz in Indian judiciary the devil is in the details, given the sheer diversity of the nation...

@KunalKumar-np4ig all such provisions are continuously challenged and corrections are taken especially when religious laws affect the fundamental rights of the individual. The judiciary has gone one step further in some examples to rectify existing laws of some religious denominations, like the recent retrospective correction of the hindu succession act that gave women equal rights to ancestral property as men. Such a course correction was not severely opposed because no rational opposition was formed. In other instances rational opposition was formed and articulated as in the recent padmanabaswamh temple case. Problem arises when a fringe elemwnts community doesn't recognise the legitimacy of the state and resorts to violence rather than rational articulation... so dont tell me that the Indian state has been averse to reforming islam...

@KunalKumar-np4ig and yet some soyboys insist on bestowing peace upon the prophet every time his name is mentioned. My sensibilities allow me to bestow peace only on those who wish me well, and not those who wish to convert me or kill me...

@saif9765 sorry yaar, i didnt click the "read more" button. I'll respond if i have valid statistical counter arguments, otherwise consider me corrected...

While your thought may seem noble to you, Indian idea of secularism is equidistance from religions. Frankly atheism is a religious ideology (essentially because it defines the nature of god, even if that nature is one of nonexistence) and hence promoting it would be against the spirit of indian secularism

@saurabhswarnakar6829 left socialism basically destroys industry. The case of KSRTC is the best example. Kerala left govt wanted to make it profitable despite it running lossy for decades. They appointed IPS Tomin Thachankery as the MD of KSRTC. This IPS reformed the entire system of KSRTC and it registered profit for a month after decades of losses. The reason was that in the old socialist model, major expenditure was welfare pensions, and service was overstaffed to provide more jobs. Workers unions also forced management into lesser hours and lower quality service. This IPS guy basically fired excess workers, extended timings and focussed on service of the KSRTC. Basically he adopted a people/service oriented capitalistic model while previous political establishments had a worker oriented socialist model. He was sacked the very next month by the left govt in kerala and they rolled back as much as they could while maintaining some of the gains be made... any industrial progress in kerala was under the corrupt crony capitalist congress led alliances...

Those who are the descendants of genocidal madmen like razakars now talking about tolerance and secularism. Life is full of ironies

@nishaat5730 Thats as communal as saying muslims live in peace in India only because hindus arent as fanatical as muslims. If they were, muslims of the present would be either massacred or expelled for their mad belief of a imaginary god and his pedophile prophet... its easy to insult or provoke... and hindus are tired of exercising restraint. Muslims can either progress into modern indian values or india can have continued communal polarisation....

@nishaat5730 dont worry india will getbharappa back .. after pakistan implodes, and islam collapses... already more and more youth are tired of the hypocrisy and contradiction of islam, that too youth from countries like Iran and Saudi are leaving islam...

@nishaat5730 yes malala got the nobel price for getting shot in the head by the taliban and surviving. She got shot for trying to educate muslim women. That was a superb example of muslim brotherhood, when the Taliban helped her to get a nobel price. And you guys are proud of it too, that a girl got a prize for getting shot over promoting female education...

@nishaat5730 i wish to remind you that india practises secularism, implying that the state is impartial to all religions. That doesnt mean that individuals or communities are secularised, they can still judge religion for their merits and demerits... islam isnt anyones equal, islam is just treated equally by the indian state for fitting the definition of secularism. If you have problems with that, either reform your religion like christianity did, or leave the religion. India being secularist doesnt mean muslims are above the law and the constitution...

@jim409 the above aspects regarding change of womans house, traditional duties in the household, etc. are reforming. But still continuously empowering women to make a choice is morally correct... the second case of conversion though varying from case to case, have seen an increase in the past few years. One case as recently as september involved the beheading of a girl for refusing to convert after marriage in sonbadra... given that the situation is getting rapidly worse, legislation on the matter is justified...

@nishaat5730 i hope islam never reforms, coz without reform islam is on the path to extinction...
