@govindss27 why give china as an example when you can have singapore as an example - high economic status but strict punishment like death sentance for drug trafficking, compulsory military service, etc. , all acheived through a capitalistic military dictayorship that forced the integration 9f different societies like Tamils and chinese through housing communities...

@govindss27 so according to you, civil liberties were not curtailed when nehru implemented the first amendment of the Indian constitution curtailimg freedom of speech, freedom of trade, etc. during the period of may-june 1951, well before the first general assembly elections of 1951-52 had taken place and the first democratically elected parliment had come into existence. Was there also no curtailment of civil liberties in decades of conflicts due to insurgencies in the north east, kashmir and punjab, or during the naxalite movement in central India ? Please dont spread blatant lies, it is easy to catch such barefaced deception...

@grapeshott so do you agree that the first amedment was agains the spirit of the constitution ? Modi govt should remove it - the ideal time would be when mass protests by a particular other community by a bjp spokesperson like nupur sharma is seen as a problem of law and order rather than a problem of secularism. When Indian society attains such maturity and the Indian govts at centre and state level have sufficient facilities to quickly resolve the law and order problem and detain the miscreants that cause chaos because of alleged hurt sentiments....

@govindss27 oh so there is context when inconvinient truths are spoken. Is there any context to the actions of the modi government or is context a luxury afforded to only the congress party?

@govindss27 Or if you want to be a nation like sweden, we can start with the process of homogenisation 9f the society so that India develops a Indian ethnic identity like how rhe swedes developed during medieval times - because that is what enabled them to eventually create an ideal welfare state where society cared for every individual - the same system that is currently being threatend and challenged by the introduction of heterogenous ethnicities that hold other identities ove the swedish identity...

@govindss27 was the first amendment brought in by a elected government? Or is it not a murder of democracy and constitution when the congress does it. Why was the first amendment needed when it was not necessary in a large nation like usa? Do you believe that "sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me" or is Indian society and democracy too fragile even after 7 decades of independence to have absolute freedom of speech? What were the limitation to freedom of trade and profession imposed by the first amendment? Did it or did it not eventually lead to reservations becoming a political tool for vote bank politics? The first amendment is the reason why muslims who invaded and oppressed the native cultures of India are now demanding reservation, what an outrageous idea caused by the wisdom (or lack thereof) of nehru... Please address all relevant questions instead of avoiding inconvinient questions and then presenting yourself as some paragon of free speech amd civil liberties.

@govindss27 nehru also passed legislatiom to protect and defend affirmative action programs like reservation because it was challenged as a violation of the right to equality guarenteed to all Indian citizens. If you dont want to discuss context in topics that go against your narrative then there is no point talking at all. I too am working at the moment but maybe I am better at my work, seeing how I dont find it difficult to reply to you. You can call as many names, hide as many contexts and give as many excuses you want. I guess even after working hours you might not find the time to address the fact that your entire narrative of polarisation and oppression by the BJP and indira gandhi alone is a barefaced lie.

@govindss27 1. If size is a factor then which countries policies should the Indian government emulate or draw inspiration from? USA where freedom of speech is absolute where each of the 50 states has its own constitution and set of laws? Or maybe russia which has many self governing republics within one nation? 2.For all this talk of polarisation, how is it that the modi government is the same government that has enabled the ease of access to credit for small businesses and i dividuals for commercial and personal (like house building) reasons ireespective of caste religion language or ethnicity? How is it that only the bjp has spoken for the upliftment of pasmanda muslims and abolition of abhorrant practises like the triple talaq? How is it that the senior Sangh leader Ram Madhav said that the Sangh view is that muslims must renounce terms like "kafir" and "jihad" for the betterment of society? Or do you think that the jihad against kafirs as professed by many Indian islamic schools of thought is progressive and not polarising?

@govindss27 first watch Ram Madhavs interiview in ThePrint titled "muslims need to give up three concepts - kafir, ummah and jihad to kill" to understand the RSS viewpoint on muslims. Criticism of muslim invaders who comitted ateocities against humanity in the name of islam or even criticism of islam is not the same as persecuting muslims. Muslims are human beings, they have the same blood, nervous system and brain as non muslims, but islamic iconoclasm prevents muslims from accepting modern post ww2 notions of humanity and universal human values. It is only the bjp that is addressing this problem head on, while most other parties trat them as stupid regressive consolidated vote banks that ensure a edge in the modern game of democratic elections...

@govindss27 but all context is thrown to the wind when the very conception of the hi dutva movement or the rss is discussed. The hindutva movement itself was the reaction to atrocities committed in the name of islam by islam8c iconoclasts - particularly the moplah massacre in gods own country kerala. Context commits seppuku when the fact that the popularity of the BJP was initially due to islamic extremism and iconoclasm that resisted all initiatives by succeasive governments for peaceful resolution of long standing disputes. Contexts is vapourised to non existence when the fact that the Ram Janmabhoomi verdict was based on primarily archeological evidence of the site in question and the muslim aprties were still avouded 5 acres of land despite the fact that they had no claim to thay land in the first place. Context is resurrected only when arguments convinient to a certain narrative is challenged... and context seems to be a card carrying congress worker since it only supports the narrative that the BJP is the cause of polarisation in Indian society rather than the logical historical product of polarisation that predates the Indian republic.

@adarshkumar1767 homogenity in china is a bad joke. China acheives its progress because no one can fact check it or oppose its policies. But effect of that is that ccps mistakes are so disasterous that it will take decades to correct - best example is the o e child policy. Moreover since no one dares oppose the ccp, the best way to progress in life in govt is by flattery and false stats. One paper suggests that this has meant that chinese gdp is only 40% of its claimed figure based on satellite imaging of chinas night sky. Meanwhile china has the largest high speed rail network in the world but majority of those lines are loss making and economically unviable. China has the best manufacturing capability but also has huge amount of electric vehecles that no one in china want to buy or use. The problem there is not lack of demand or manufacturing but corporate china making substandard hlf made ptoducts to get as much govt subsidy as possible. The entire chinese system is not organic growth with built in redundance but instead artificial inflated un innovative state aided growth, fuelled by thechinese rich. China is becoming a capitalist authoritarian regime and will suffer in the most stupidest wats possible because of the breaking of social institutions under the oppression of a centralised authoritarian state. Sure they are richer than Indians now, but no amount of richness can compensate for resiliant social structure, especially under turbulent times created by the ongoing climate crisis that will last for the coming decades.....
