@lukehua5989 i wouldnt put much blame on nehru post 1991 since that year was the inflection point, the beginning of the end of nehru-indira (big government socialism) economic philosophy in india. But history before the economic reforms are the direct consequence of nehruvian socialism. People who claim that the license raj and the crisis of 1991 after the collapse of the USSR wasnt due to the socialist economics of the congress during the cold war, are not blind or stupid. They are motivated, and you can never wake up a person who is pretending to sleep, no matter how hard you try...

@lukehua5989 xi needs much more nationalism than modi, seeing how the chinese were demanding greater accountability and more free media. The chinese economic boom is ending, and technological boom may not be sustainable without markets to sell them too. Neverthless chinese domestic market is huge and nothing is written in stone regarding the current cold war 2. But xi definitely feels that he needs nationalistic sentiment, seeing how he tried engaging opponents in multiple fronts (from india to south china sea to senkaku islands) to project to tue chinese that they are cornered and only the CCP can save them... china is just further isolating itself by sabotaging the covid international investigation....

@plendafuture7451 actually india can acheive rapid growth within a decade to match china, you compare the nominal gdp of the two countries. I suggest you compare the ppp gdp instead. If america chooses to engage in geopolitics more, the money will come. India needs to ensure it has the resources, skill and industry to execute said moves, essentially india must strive for a industry boom so that india builds the future of the world

@comesthru india can reclaim its land but such escalation will destroy both countries india and china. Neither wants that, and it is better for now to negotiate a face saver for both sides while india fights the real 21st century war against china on the economic front. There is a reason why 1962 didnt repeat in 2020 despite chinese economy 5 times the size of indian economy. It was on similar levels in 2013 too because india cannot make muslims work in forced labor camps, nor easily change land or labor laws without the indian left having a rage run (despite the fact that even china has minimum labor laws and the cpim looks up to china as the paragon of communism). India held its own and was able to counter because of cold calculating leadership at both political and military levels, indian diplomacy and strategy over the decades, and the political clarity offered by the current leadership in terms of nationalism and defence. India will have to develop its economy now to maintain national sovereignty, and i am hopeful that this india will rise up to that challenge...

@sauron2000000 Nehru was a much more idealistic fool i.capable of acknowledging reality. Bot Sardar Pater and Dr. Ambedkar had warned about chinese CCP, but nehru could still not see the threat!
