Yes they were, although after the Windrush arrived the latter from Jamaica & Barbados were actively recruited by the NHS & London Transport and they had offices open in Barbados to take on people to do the jobs that the English wouldn’t do hence a lot of the old management/supervisors were from the Caribbean. Anyway that aside they were citizens of the Commonwealth so had full entitlement to be here anyway, might hurt you to admit it but that’s the truth fella.
