Unfortunately Lee that won't compute with a lot of people on here as they think everything's rosy and all sovereign. Lots of companies pulled out because they knew the impending supply chain problems and costs involved. I heard one guy on the radio saying that he's prepared to lose his home if it ment we weren't controlled by Brussels anymore. This is the type of idiot you're dealing with. I hope you got everything back on track. I took early retirement due to health problems so was lucky in one way but don't think I could manage keeping a job in my state now anyway!

Let's be honest - the majority voted to leave because of immigrants and xenophobia. Then you had the sovereignty and control brigade which we always had and never lost just people that were easy to wind up. Now you've got a load of Brexit supporters in the form of the farming and fishing community which are up in arms because it's suddenly dawned on them that they will be poorer in the long run and will now have no EU subsidies to help them. Then you have the really special ones that are prepared to lose their homes so their kids will be better off in 20 years time. Meanwhile all the super wealthy are sitting in their gentleman's club with a glass of cognac laughing that their offshore hedge funds have been boosted by millions and that they have even got the general public to stand outside clapping and banging pots like sheep. Job done..

@ryusukekapokurachi The UK has always needed labour from abroad. The problem being with a certain section of the country seeing these people here to milk the system, but a lot do the jobs that brits won't do or can't do due to not being qualified enough. The Windrush generation went thru a similar problem and there are still some getting issues thanks to May and her mates mysteriously losing the paperwork ( allegedly )

@selysia The UK has always relied on and needed people from abroad. The people from the EU are the modern day equivalent to the Windrush generation in how they have been treated. Shameful.

A decade of austerity coupled with the last 5-6 years of being fed complete bollox by the media which funnily enough is owned by half a dozen billionaires who consider themselves so patriotic that they all live in tax havens outside the UK was enough to get the deluded wound up enough to push the vote thru. @zjeee Look what happened last year when the UK government had to backtrack and fly 3 jumbos over from the EU for the workers to pick fruit and veg as it lay going rotten. If you expect a farmer to pay anyone £20 an hour for that you are deluded. If they did it would be the normal working man and woman in the street having to pay for it. Brits want £3 boiler chickens rather than pay £12 for a decent one. Same goes for your staples. UK have tried to employ UK workers but we are lazy fuckers. You won't going to get Dave and Wayne out of the boozer to go and do a night shift mopping vomit from train floors will you? Rather than blame people from other countries " taking " jobs that uk workers won't or can't do look at it another way - They PAY TAX INTO THE UK. Which is more than the half a dozen billionares who own the media and their friends who send their money off shore then tell you to vote for something that will make them richer and you poorer as the £ crashes for the 10th time. Wake up.

@jasonkingshott2971 I have never been bothered about the EU or people running it as I looked at the benefits it gave me rather than people going on about dictatorships and comparing it to concentration camps. Being a patriot I believe in a United Kingdom, not breaking it up like the little Englander gang. I don't want people to lose their livelihoods which is what voting leave has been responsible for and for what? More ' control, sovereignty, border protection' blah blah blah all complete bollox.

@squishyfoosball7445 Don't be silly. Brexit was for the wealthy. Pre ref we were getting €1.48 to the pound then it dropped to €1.21 overnight. Hedge fund companies made millions. Crispin Odey made 500m overnight. You may be getting higher wages but inflation is about to go up and your shopping, fuel, utilities are up 30%. In one hand, out the other. Wake up!

@wodens-hitman1552 Funny. Here was me thinking that the majority of farmers and fisherman were brexiteers. They haven't stopped crying since realising they have had their family businesses completely knackered by their own silly decision. This on top of all the grumbling of rubber boats coming in daily now our right to send them back has been taken away. Still we've now got our basic food items to go up in price by 30 to 40 % by the end of 22 plus the wholesale utilities on top. Happy days. 👏

@andrewtingate6658 100k plus jobs going within the NHS but no takers. Wages are rising ( slighty ) to try and entice people into seasonal work which is cancelled by the inflation rise, council tax going up by 12 % in some areas, then we have utilities jumping after the price cap with further increases forecast after next April. My predictions will be that you will be paying 5k plus to live in your own home in the next 12 months ( that's without mortgage or rent ) then from Jan 1st next year anything brought in from Europe will be more expensive due to carriage costs involved. I personally know 7 people who lost their jobs with companies moving abroad with my wife being one of them. De la rue who made the UK passports closed their Gateshead plant after losing the tender to " foreigners " with 260 people losing their jobs. Once you've pulled your head out of the sand Andrew can you remind me who invented the vaccine and who funded them and where did the majority of the vaccines come from?....... Keep believing mate.

@jasonkingshott2971 According to ONs 3.8m settled here although 800k went back 2 years after the referendum, over 9,000 of those worked in the NHS where we currently have in excess of 100k vacancies. Whilst you could say that there were quite a few claiming benefits ( roughly 800k ) the rest chipped in four times what the others took out in Taxes etc so they were in my eyes far more beneficial to the UK than what the hardcore Right wingers have led us to believe. Not forgetting that a great deal of those workers did/do jobs that the Brits are either not qualified enough to do or too lazy which is why the government had to backtrack and fly 3 jumbos of Romanians over to pick up fruit and veg which lay rotting in the fields. Same went for the recent " special " visas for lorry drivers that only 9 took up the offer. Whilst on my patriotic holiday to the lakes last year pubs and restaurants were closing at 8pm in August due to lack of staff and not enough supplies. No Englishmen or women around to serve anyone, far too busy complaining about foreigners.

@luckyrobp Where did you get your information from? Did you pluck it out of thin air? That's the trouble when people pick out parts of Wikipedia to suit their own mindset. They had a right to be here. You might not like that fact but they came here to work and contribute towards the UK. Some Jamaican airman came back over to join the RAF. A vast amount went into the railways and the NHS. I've had family in both those sectors.

@MrPspencer2 My mate did that with one of his companies recently. After sitting down with his accountant who told him the extra costs coming from Jan 1st bringing parts over from the EU on top of the lost business he's had in the last 6 months just put 7 people on the jam roll before Christmas. Another Brexit bonus sadly.

@Zockblatt Shickleblender Ford moved because it wanted to consolodate its production, presumably something to do with efficiency and cost. Considering Turkey aren't in the EU I'm not sure where you are going with that one Zockblatt. Did you work at the Dagenham plant?

@JeanB-br9nw I totally agree. Complete waste of time and money. Never bothered me paying £12 a month in return for FoM and healthcare abroad. People go on about being ruled by unelected bureaucrats then Bojo puts an unelected bureaucrat into negotiating and look how well that one went. I'm more concerned with the fact that now the Tories have a free run in making new laws and rules up to suit themselves.

It seems confusion tends to run in the leave camp Jason as I thought being patriotic you were supposed to want the country to thrive not go the other way but each to their own. As for the Europeans in prison how many are there? Could you provide me with some figures? Maybe the money could be taken out of the millions in raised taxes by those European people. What's next? Ask the Scots and Welsh for their prescription money back? Can I ask for my 40% tax deductions over 9 years that I earnt in London to be taken back from elsewhere?.... " when I'm in the UK " please tell me your not another immigrant in another country that says he's an expat. 🙄

@dmannevada5981 What EU policies affected the UK population adversely? If you think FoM affected us then how is it we have tens of thousands of jobs going in the sectors that were filled by immigrants from the EU including over 100,000 vacancies in the NHS and none of these jobs are being mopped up by disenfranchised Brits then? My prime example being the hospitality industry now having even more vacancies after Brexit and the toll that covid took on the industry. No ones rushing to do those jobs Dman. Another reason the UK government backtracked and offered seasonal visas for jobs like HGV drivers that only 9 from the EU took up. Like Brexit a complete waste of time.

Fords were loaned money by the European Investment bank and not the EU, the same bank loaned money to Xrail and other UK projects to the tune of over 6 billion quid. Ford are ( Last time I checked ) a business and not a charity. Maybe land prices and labour are cheaper in Turkey, either way its still ( last time I checked ) not in the EU. It's funny but it seems you are the one moaning my pedigree chum. You won, now accept the fact that due to companies not wanting the hassle of all the extra costs involved ( especially where the supply chain costs and delivery times for car and van parts need to be kept to a minimum) they may move to countries that make it easier for them to operate. Did you kick off when the UK government helped close down a 189 year old British company and put 260 people on the dole that printed our passports by giving the contract to a company in Poland? @slyfoxx8540 That's because we always had sovereignty and never lost it. Another load of tosh telling people that our lives were controlled by Brussels. If that were the case we would be using euros. Whilst the EU wasn't perfect it did give us freedom of movement. It also gave us the right to send people back to the point of origin which is why so many asylum seekers are now flooding the UK coast every day as we've lost that right. The rules were always there, just never applied correctly by a useless government. The only thing that brexiteers have done for the UK is help get people the sack, push up the cost of living, holidays, make it harder for people to travel. All in the name of so called patriotism when it's really myopic xenophobia, worrying about people coming here doing the jobs that brits won't or can't do. Sovereignty and control doesn't come into it. Have a read of any of rees moggs fathers books or watch the YT clip of Crispin odey the day after the referendum when he made 500million by betting on the £ shorting. Then you might realise you've been mugged off.

Bang on. All the populists are banging on about it never being so good thinking its because we've sent loads packing. Inflation today at 5 1% and rising, wages artificially inflated for the season but all the companies will do is pass the cost onto the consumer. Proves that they are the sheep and not the other way round as they try and make out. I suppose it keeps them happy, hanging onto Nigel's and Bojos every bit of drivel.

@ctOrEANt True, but the returns were there for the poorer parts of the country. One reason the farming community are up in arms now Gove has gone back on the empty promises to look after them after losing their EU subsidies. Look at all the job losses thanks to Brexit and firms that pulled out of the UK. I paid £12 a month towards it. Never bothered me for what I got back in return.

I don't care about inflation in other countries that's because I live in the UK at the moment. Cost of living is far less in europe than here. Take fuel as an example €1.09 in Spain a litre and here it's swiftly moving towards £1.70 a litre. Foods cheaper too. Brexit serves only for the wealthy. A pay rise here is swiftly taken back in taxes in NI contributions ( if you're paye ) you may think you've done well but wait until next year when the utilities price cap goes in April. No extra sovereignty or border control or 350m to nhs or 40 new hospitals - you were mugged.

@squishyfoosball7445 No, You have to worry about laws being changed by the appointed elite in this country. They are making them up and changing them to suit themselves. With regards to the EU you had the working time directive in force which is out the window now so at least you can do those 60 hrs a week you've been hankering for. Congrats on your payrise whatever job you do but that's nothing to do with any immigrants ( unless you are one of the small amount of brits picking crops ) whatsover. I can't think of any EU rule that actually affected me in a negative way. Unelected burecrats? Yes Lord Frost being appointed to deal with Brexit or the large amount of Brexiteers telling you one thing then doing the total opposite is lost on the myopic. As a country we could opt out of rules on a case by case basis hence why you are being paid in pounds and not euros. Petrol wise I paid 1.10 a litre 4 weeks ago over in Spain so no I'm not making it up, but you can keep believing the Express headlines if you wish. Enjoy your new found wealth. Next year you will be paying back for anything that comes from Europe!

@JeanB-br9nw Yes agreed. Only 38% of the population turned out on something so important that it should have been made compulsory imo. Only then would we have got the true " will of the people " Think I remember Bojo getting in on a small vote when he was elected for londons mayor and look how that turned out!

As for moaning I would say that it's the leave side that haven't stopped since we left - Farmers and Fisherman now realising that they will be out of pocket. Nigel and his mates on the Kent coast constantly complaining about dark skinned people coming over boats when we know that ' controlling borders' was one that your lots main mantras/bullshit. Old farts complaining that they can't get seen at the Doctors. Business owners in the lakes moaning about no staff or supplies - all leave voters. Now Frost has had enough and used the usual covid excuse bollox. Not going too well fella is it?

@bfc2155 Well, Europe in general is far cheaper. Property, cost of living, fuel, etc. One reason I'm moving full time to my place in France. Scandinavian countries have always been expensive places to visit and live, but in general the people are happier and healthier. You've obviously voted to make yourself poorer. There's no extra sovereignty or control as that was bullshite. No extra money to the NHS. No 40 extra hospitals, no extra police. Have you not yet sussed that all you voted for was to make the wealthy even richer? Duped by people like Farage, Rees mogg, Lilley, Lawson etc all who have either benefited from the EU, applied for residency, or moved their companies abroad. Of course you could always congratulate yourself on a nice new blue passport - the one made in Poland after the UK government awarded the contract to yet another European company helping to close down a British firm which had been going for 189 years and putting 260 northerners on the jam roll. The same being for fishing and farming communities up and down the country now going to the wall. Or you could be like squishy and work 60hrs a week on £15 an hour then wonder why you've only got a few more quid in your pocket as the tories have rinsed you of higher tax and NI contributions and cost of living going thru the roof due to the cost of moving stuff from europe. @dmannevada5981 Err that would be a big fat yes Dman. Only one in my group of friends who thought so. 2 of them went straight out and applied for Irish passports after voting leave. Another actually lives in Spain. That's why I love Brexiteers- the irony/hypocrisy is amazing.
