@lauralishes1 We had more rights to send people back when we were in the EU under the Dublin agreement but it was never applied properly. We also had border force in France, now no longer. The French will happily wave them thru which is the reason so many more are landing on a daily basis. Then we have the people blaming labour for it all when the tories have been in charge for 12 years, if not its the EUs fault even though we've left. You could not make it up. If the border controls were applied properly and people were only allowed to stay after 3 months if they were in employment then it would have been better but imo the government allowed a steady trickle to come thru to enhance the media campaign to get Brexit solely for a small percentage of the very wealthy to make millions for their companies and hedge funds at the expense of normal working class people. All this was predicted in most of Reesmoggs father's books where the rich slowly wind up the masses against each other. People like Farage have earnt millions working in the EU. All of the wealthy have money siphoned off in countries where they pay no taxes to the UK and the same goes for the half a dozen billionaires who own the media and who live abroad which spent a decade winding the general public up. And these People are considered patriots? You and I are paying more for everything, and if you are born and bred English you have less rights now than if you are Irish, have settled status or dual nationality all thanks to xenophobic myopia.

@andyisabeast7782 Agreed. Last years summer trip to the Lakes was a nightmare with pubs and restaurants closing at 8pm due to no staff and low supplies. This was in the height of the tourist season after those places had lost 18 months business thru Covid. Of course we know the North voted heavily for brexit but its only when those business owners pockets are affected they start grumbling. Same for the Fishermen and Farmers. Fancy those Fishermen in Cornwall with 70% of their catches going to the EU deciding it's better to cut off your main customer. Loonies the lot of them.

@tonygange7636 We need it, and will continue to do so. How's that?

@sammylpt9076 The solution is obvious Sammy. Admit that the 38% of the country that voted were wrong and ask to go back in. It might mean we have to accept the Euro but for me I'm not bothered as our notes already have a picture of a German woman on it anyway.

@easy1355 Yep. A decade in one big echo chamber didn't help the politically myopic Simon. Job done. Now us plebs have to pay for Reesmoggs children's education.

@corydorastube Depends where you live and what job you do. Wales and Cornwall were the biggest recipients of EU funding.

@tonygange7636 Corbyn was always a eurosceptic. Hence why the unions told their members to vote leave...

@Daniel Wood Yes. A far more progressive government running the show over in your country Daniel. Whereas we have a dribbling posh bloke who can't dress himself properly here in the UK who is a proven bullshitter in both his personal and professional lives. Yet the deluded still get a semi over him.
