Comments by "Stephen Jon" (@stephenjon3502) on "Notting Hill carnival marks 75th anniversary of Empire Windrush" video.
Strange comment considering London transport opened up recruitment offices in the Caribbean because the English wouldn’t do the work. And let’s not forget those brave RAF personnel ( over 100 ) that came to re- enlist for the RAF.

All the multi millionaires are in their second or third homes and nowhere near the place. Carnival has been going nearly 60 years when not one of these people were interested in living there like most parts of London.
19
@fionasmith6868 The next Calabar carnival in Nigeria starts in Dec 1st Fiona. Senegals Dakar carnival is in November. The Takordari street carnival in Ghana starts on the 24th Dec. I could go on and on but I’ve just started a conversation with the fireplace as it’s more intelligent.

Not as much as Cleveland in the North of the UK - (98.5% white)
7
@charliekenwright6324 Not sure. I do know that us British taxpayers only finished paying the money paid to British slave owners for loss of their slaves in 2015 though.
6
@ogbmt Not forgetting that the 2 areas in the UK with the highest knife crime are in the West Midlands and Cleveland which are predominantly white.
5
@thewhinjaninja3610 They came over to do jobs that the Brits couldn’t or wouldn’t do. There were also over a hundred Former RAF personnel on the ship that came over to rejoin after the war. That part is long forgotten by many idiots.
5
What’s the Broadwater farm riot got to do with NHC?
5
@jc6087 No, they were subjects of the commonwealth therefore entitled to come here. Why not check out what type of passport they had. Easily searched for.
5
@eXRe4per multi millionaire...
4
Take over 22% of the globe then complain about people coming back to the motherland. 😂
3
And in 2015 UK taxpayers finally finished paying back the 20 million plus interest to British slave owners for loss of their “slaves”
3
@georgethepatriot2785 Our war dead would be embarrassed at people purporting to have the best interests of their country considering that we are now awash with fascists after they had spent years fighting them.
3
West Midlands 1st. Cleveland 2nd.
2
Taywoode - Most of the multi millionaire locals are in their second or third homes. Elderly residents that qualify can go on a free weekend trip to the seaside paid for by the council. Anyone else who’s moaning ( like my neighbours ) had nearly 60 years advance notice that the carnival happens over the bank holiday weekend once a year. Maybe they should have chosen somewhere else to live. The Falklands has 3000 white people with no carnival and flights leave Brize Norton twice a month.
2
@ruledtrendy5066 They were subjects of the Commonwealth therefore entitled to be here. Does not matter who, what or when anyone was asked, invited or not.
2
How many other carnivals in the UK raise 100 million and provide 3000 jobs for the local economy?? Not even the Yorkshire maypole tractor festival can touch it bigfarmer.
2
@@randpaulsneighbor2220And any Elderly resident that qualifies can choose to go the weekend away at Eastbourne funded by the council if they choose to.
2
@christinebrown4901 Of course the UK just went to colonial countries because they wanted to improve them. Nothing to do with natural resources whatsoever Christine…
2
@ganndeber1621 You live in a country with a German royal family and had a PM born in America with a voted front bench of a selection box of foreigners. 😊
2
They came here as they wanted to work. Some came to re enlist. Either way they were subjects of the commonwealth and had a right to be here.
2
@Tony-1971 Not forgetting that a few years later companies such as London Transport, British rail and our NHS then opened up recruitment offices in the Caribbean islands. I know this as most of my old managers were from the Caribbean.
2
It’s just a big knife.
1
@Queen.lizard.1947 The bill for cleaning up is around 175,000 The carnival generates 100 million for the local economy so I don’t think that’s really any issue Joan. The carnival also provides employment for 3,000 people. Unfortunately, people focus too much on the negatives mainly being wound up by certain news outlets before looking at any benefits because it’s black people involved.
1
@mrjinks5641 I said the local council pay for the elderly ( that qualifies) to go away if they wish. Why do people with a certain agenda pick bits out then flip it and try and make something out of nothing?? I live down the road, don’t bother me one bit. I knew all about it when I moved here. It’s only the snowflakes that get upset.
1
@Queen.lizard.1947 They did mention Hyde park numerous times. That would ruin the nature of the different soundsystems though.
1
Great word salad Kev. Regardless of who offered what and when the Windrush generation had full rights being citizens of the commonwealth whereas todays influx are asylum seekers assisted by the thick 52% who made the UK a third country….
1
Sure the multi millionaires won’t be too bothered on holiday in the second home.
1
Over 2 million in attendance. Cleveland NE of the UK had 139 knife crime incidents last year with a population (98.5% white) of 140,000 Stop reading the Mail/Sun/Express and watching Gbeebies as it’s no good for your blood pressure.
1
Because the Brits were racist hence the signs in the windows - No dogs, Irish or Blacks. Thought anyone with half a brain cell would have realised that one.
1
@Queen.lizard.1947 You obviously missed a decade or few Joan. Where I lived in East London an Indian family were given a week to move out otherwise their house would be burnt down, this was in the 70s and it was a lot worse in the 50s.
1
Not forgetting all those darkies that have propped up the NHS and care system for years. Shocking to think of the contribution to the education system too. I have 3 of them in my household who go out and teach every day. Complete waste of time to society . 👌🏻
1
Get another job then
1
No it didn’t. Please stop making things up.
1
@TheJon2442 I don’t need to. My mother in law was on the boat.
1
My in laws came over to work. One in the NHS as a nurse and the old man as a builder who eventually ended up with his own business that employed 16 brits. All my wife's side are now teachers, health service and 2 solicitors. None of my wife's family came just for a ride. They came to contribute. And in their possession was a British passport, so regardless of other comments on here they had rights to come.
1
@Jessicajazmine Cleveland is 98.5% ………… White.
1
@tyronedindu2094 Luckily the 97% of black nurses are there to patch everyone up.
1
Is that the bloke with a big nose and tache that has no qualifications?
1
@tiggy500 Just like most parts of London. Take a look at places like Hackney and Shoreditch where hardly any of the originals are left as a 1 bed flat costs 900k.
1
@Queen.lizard.1947 ?
1
@georgethepatriot2785 Does she not have a toilet in her house then George?
1
Without drug dealers no one would be able to get their ganja…..
1
Speak for yourself.
1
Have a guess at where the 2 highest areas for knife crime are according to official figures Toffee, and have a guess at what colour the majority of the people are ( they ain't black)
1
Yes, mention the words Windrush and Carnival and suddenly the comments section is awash with angry Gbeebies cult members. 😂
1
gooner7188 Last football game I went to I saw a Spurs supporter get his arse slashed with a stanley. Wall to wall white People draped in the same £400 jumpers with a badge on the arm. Nothing said.
1
@justjoshua5759 Most of those that live there are in their second or third homes on holiday. Carnival has been on for nearly 60 years and they knew this when buying their homes there. The council will have a full clean up after. The OP just wants to have a moan.
1
Not sure about any riots from 1970 but the only riots I know of are the race riots in 58. That would have been the black community getting the hump over being regularly attacked by teddy boys round there and particularly where I lived in the East End before moving NW.
1
@retroimmunity the clean up costs around 175k but the carnival brings considerably more to the area (100 million+) plus 3000 jobs. Like a lot if things its always the idiots that people see and not the good. I’ve seen loads of nasty fights at football over the years plus gang fighting ( blacks v whites ) Regardless of colour the Brits always have loved a straightener. Nowadays though it’s the cowards with the blades that are the big problem.
1
Brings far too much money into London end creates thousands of jobs. They’ve tried before. Unsuccessfully.
1
@Adlata Do tell. Think the boat was owned by the Ministry of transport at the time of the first crossing.
1
Just the people wanting to come back to the motherland.
1
@meanlean3095 Out of 2 million people it makes the 139 stabbings in Cleveland with 140k residents look tame
1
@justjoshua5759 Carnival brings out the xenophobic, bigoted & Racist every year. Despite going for nearly 60 years, bringing 100 million quid and providing jobs for nearly 3000 people it’s far easier to just say that all black people want to do is stab each other. Nothing mentioned of the highest knife crime areas as per official statistics being predominantly white areas though as that doesn’t fit in with the narrative.
1
They had British passports. Didn’t need any invite whatsoever.
1
@Tony-1971 And my point was it doesn’t matter as they were citizens of the commonwealth and had a British passport. They could come to the UK as and when. All the people on there wanted to come here to work and contribute and over one hundred came to re-enlist in the forces, mainly the RAF..
1
Because mention the word Windrush and out crawls the stoned Iceland gang. Everyone who’s not white are illegal…😂
1
@tyronedindu2094 You are talking nonsense. What “ honest reporting “ ?
1
It’s wokeness a proper word?
1
Union Jacks will be gone in a few years anyway George. It will be the St Georges flag in England with a picture of a Halal Kebab on the back of a horse.
1
What about the 100 plus RAF personnel that came over to re enlist after helping the UK in WW2? Are they chancers too? Or just Black chancers?
