  55.  @everest9707 Yes, of course we should be looking after our own but voting for any party that only wants to look after their wealthy friends isn’t the way to do it. The Tories have systematically chipped away at anything to do with social or health care, you only have to look at their voting records in parliament to see this. Reform are exactly the same but run as a PLC where you can pay your £25 to join but can’t vote any of their candidates as they are company directors! Reform won’t be able to stem the flood of people coming over as now we are a third country thanks to them gaslighting people over the referendum. The UK signed up to the 1951 Refugee convention and under article 31 we legally have to process anyone applying for asylum. The Rwanda business is just an expensive (for the taxpayer) PR exercise that won’t be used. Unless Reform made a cast Iron guarantee to re join the EU they would be in exactly the same boat ( no pun intended ) You will always need a flow of cheap labour, let’s be realistic, you won’t ever get Brits cleaning trains at night, cleaning toilets, picking fruit n veg or ( unless they are very dedicated ) working in care homes all for minimum wages. You won’t ever get £30 an hour to work in a bar or restaurant either. And until whoever is in power starts giving free training for people to go into nursing you are always going to need a foreign work force to top up the very few Brits who will take on a 60k plus debt to then go and work for £23k a year.

  56.  @everest9707 The only reason I mentioned about rejoining the EU was for the ONLY way to send any immigrants back to the first safe country they entered into which as a third country we can no longer do. Rejoining doesn’t really bother me as I’m off over to live permanently in Europe anyway. Everyone lost on that one and anyone who thinks leaving the EU has made the UK more prosperous and in better control needs testing for drugs. Reform won’t ever get full control of government but may take a couple of seats so won’t be doing anything in “stopping the boats “ why would anyone vote in a party that is run by a board of directors? People are voting for them as they struggle to reason with the facts. Read their manifesto - how long will the UK last with them giving everyone a 20k tax break? I worked on the railway for 33 years and never saw any English cleaning trains, it was mainly Africans with a few Eastern Europeans. Once we’d left the EU don’t you remember the government having to charter planes to Romania to have their country men and woman back over to pick up fruit and veg which was going rotten. No English will do these jobs. The same was the first year after Covid when all the main pubs and restaurant’s in the Lake District had to close at 8pm down to lack of staff and this was in August. You won’t ever get a far right party in neither as they struggle to keep their deposit so you can put that point across as much as you like but people with a fully functional brain will never vote for them. There’s also no point in leaving any form of convention or things like the ECHR as the only people that want you to vote for that have the most to gain - a la Brexit where workers rights are now being eroded and there’s more turds floating in our rivers and sea thanks to deregulation.
