  3. Never give to any charities with the exception of mountain rescue and the wife's mastercard. A simple search shows that most of these organisations pay their Chief execs 6 figure sums. Disgusting.

  6.  @rob5944  Depends on where you look. In Scotland 1 fifth of money comes from government the rest is raised by donations. So the people that say its solely paid for by government are incorrect. A very worthwhile cause regardless if you go into the mountains or not. Same goes for the lifeboats.
