It rubs me wrong too, "the baby" like she's an object. I call my 8 year old baby and pet names (prob won't get away with this for much longer haha!) but also by his name just as much. It'd feel so alien to me to say "where's the child? have you got the child?" even saying "the dog" sounds weird! I call her by her name!

Why keep having kids? Do you get child benefit in the states per kid like you do here in UK?
27
This shouldn't be nauseating. Or cringe. This should be how we live. But it isn't.... so it's very weird to hear it.
9
I thought that at first too but it's just their way of trying to deal with the situation emotionally. If I was involved and stood there the atmosphere would feel unbearable.
9
He was pissed/on something. He didn't have a clue how to care for those girls and his wife knew that, which is why she's sticking by him - she feels the guilt of working long hours and saving $$$ on childcare by having the husband play housedaddy. Wife knew he was speeding with them in the car and "losing" them. It's like she wasn't surprised when this happened. But she feels guilty over it too.

It angers me so much how no one is blaming these kids dads in anyway.
8
Why is it not the fault of the infants dad also?
7
She didn't seem too concerned did she? it's really bizarre. I'm not a huge cat lover but my God I'd have found a damn emergency vet ASAP
7
Beautiful dog. Great job.
6
"I've got an axe!" and he's just like "Okay sweet" like it's boring information!
6
I think it's because she feels partly responsible. She probably feels she should've been around for her kids more and she probably also understands anger and emotional outbursts isn't going to solve anything. She's lost her daughter , her other kids have lost a sister, and now they've all lost their dad/husband. If that was me I'd just be numb tbh. It's surprising how minimalist the daughters rooms were compared to the lavish other areas of the house and the cars and all the instruments.
6
Oh it takes a lot to make me tear up also! I watch a lot of this content. But this did it. Hurt my heart bad.
6
@3lit3xile3 Dog thinks it's all a game so just loved that it got to "play".
5
@violetlove3580 Nah I actually think that's a good lesson. I didn't let my 12yo watch but I gave him the general gist. I didn't detail the pregnancy part. I just said he'd kidnapped her and he (my son)immediately was right to say it was the ADULTS fault. Of course it is. But I'm not sure how much awareness and lessons the kids in this video had... maybe if they'd watched similar videos they wouldn't have been so trusting. It's important they know and keep being told. I'd let a 14yo watch.
5
Yeah I rewound that bit like wait - what?! I think maybe they knew he was "wanted" somehow and knew about the BOLO.
5
@godschildyes We're all equal parts of God. So in creating the car seat and training in life saving measures - WE save ourselves, or, we save our bodies and our Earth experience.
4
I'd probably be stricter with a daughter. Those hormones and "I want to feel cared for by my own man" are stronnggg! I know believe me!! and I was cared for by 2 solid parents who are still together. I still met up with folk from the net all the time. It was brand new when I was 12. Luckily the people did turn out to be my age.
4
@titanjones if no one agreed to fight - there would be no wars.
4
Because she wanted to be "right" more than she actually cared about the kitten.
3
I think the mentality of the people that do this is they want the "problem" or the "burden" gone. They think of the baby as an object, not a person. They discard it. They don't want involvement of others. Or a trace leading back to them. These people are immature and cannot comprehend the depth of their actions. This little baby felt everything. This little baby has a soul. This is some MASSIVE karma this 17 year old will have to pay.
3
Depends if the dads to the children left her struggling in that position. Fair enough if she chose to refuse their help.
3
Her reaction was so natural. I do question why she let her two little kids be in the car with someone like that when she seems so naturally emphatic and nurturing.
3
Bodycams must pick up on a lot of stuff..... they can turn them off in bathrooms right?:face-blue-wide-eyes:

Thank you! some sense at last. I'll add to that that the guy very clearly needs some help as he was acting about the same age as the kid "my office has a pool, and a jacuzzi and a bit leather couch - and I own ALL these boats!..." come on. He's like a big kid.
2
Agree totally with the courts. The officers were trying to save the life of the kid - the psycho in the car had a gun to the kids head. If they approached the car he could've pulled the trigger. They tried to kill the guy before he killed the kid.
2
Their dad died, their mum lost custody. I think. Gets confusing. But you can see why they were yearning for someone young and strong to take care of them.
2
Baby could've died for all he knew. Crazy stuff. He was so disconnected from anything apart from his own ego.
2
Yet no one blames the dad who isn't even there with them....
2
All that makes sense is the dogs were locked up in disgusting conditions by humans and starving, that resulted in attacking as a pack for survival. The no charge thing is probably due to the owners mental health, and being related to the victim. I can't understand why she let herself into his house with so many pitbulls otherwise. She probably thought "the dogs know me so won't attack". I feel really bad for her, and the officers who had to shoot/witness it, and the dogs, and the son and daughter. It's just horrific but it makes sense.
2
He comes across very vulnerable, there's something going on with him mentally. He's just giving the officers the answers he THINKS he should give. He's definitely "not all there" - e.g Are you attracted to kids? No. (So they ask again) Are you attracted to kids? so he says yes this time figuring no was the wrong answer. He thought the kid was his daughter. Then his stepson. Then his son from the future. Come on. Get the guy help.
2
I wonder why he isn't working. It's so hard to work as a parent knowing you have to trust people with your little defenceless children for so long. I've heard horrific stories and seen abusive videos from daycares and babysitters and have worked in disgusting nurseries and reported them. It's really hard when they're little and can't tell you what happened.
2
This shot an arrow through my heart good. Her boyfriend didn't seem shocked either. "She hit the dog with a mallet" - "How many times?" Erm.... why does it matter?!!! would a couple times be OK for you?! Jesus.
2
I've seen cats do this too, lucky for us they're just easier to fight off. They're just little lions and tigers.
2
These comments are disgusting. If she never asked everyone would be jumping onher too.
2
Dogs don't bite someone for the fun of it. EVER.
2
Crazy that people are blaming the grandparents over the actual man who committed the acts on the child/ren. These are grandparents dealing with wild teens full of hormones and emotions. Hell, I have ONE preteen and it's flipping tough. And he's a boy without the girly hormones. This wouldn't have happened if we didn't have people like this man who wants to do this stuff with kids and play the "hero".... "I'm gonna rescue you and look after you"..... There lies our issue. That and the fact that WE BLAME EACH OTHER rather than the criminals.
2
The weird thing is that there's a market for this kind of weird stuff. Like, people like to watch other people go to the toilet. Like... what? we're a weird species.
1
Oh god I was saying out loud "No no no no...." when the footage started rolling. thankfully you don't hear or see a single thing. My deepest respect to all legal personnel who had to watch that to get Maya justice.

So don't agree to BE ONE
1
unneutered dogs I expect.
1
I googled it and I still don't know who it is...
1
Because it's all a big play. I don't think she died. I think this was some sort of video project or training video. For a training video though it's comical. I'm gonna go with film project..... a very very amateur one.
1
People keep saying this but you can't take Jon's word as gold. He had a good two months to think of a story.
1
Either the woman didn't die when the video cuts off (very conveniently) ,and this is all a big "pantomime" ....which would also make sense at the total lack of remorse of her kids and bizarre acting of her supposed husband "ooh shit I should probably cry or sumthin'..".... Or she did die and her kids/her husband set her up to die and it was all planned and the 14 year old agreed to do it for some bizarre reason. I love this one because it's SO bizarre and odd! my brain likes the bizarre and odd.

There is not enough security in place to protect kids at school. My kids primary just kicks all kids 6+ out and if there's no parent at the top of the wall, the kid is stood by themselves. I've seen it happen so many times. Also I walked into my sons previous primary school (no locked door or anything) and up to the desk - receptionist didn't know me, I asked for my child (he had a dental appointment I'd forgotten about until then) and I was just handed my 4 year old child by a teaching assistant who I also didn't know/didn't know me. I could've been ANYONE. I was amazed by how easy that was.
1
What other reason have they got to eat raw flesh? They hunted and attacked as a pack and were eating her like lions or wolves would do. It's animal instinct. They could also have been protecting their females. Sometimes it's as simple as it appears.
1
Don't blame the officers at all. Really hard situation. Psycho had a gun to the kids head and it's anyones guess if that was a threat or not. If they approached he could've shot him. He may HAVE shot him. What a sad story.
1
I bet they never want to let their daughter out of their sight again! Cop would've had to tackle me to stop me ripping the guys balls off.
1
Ha! he DGAF. Awesome.
1
His job is also to protect Freddy- as well as any person on that property. This guy posed no threat to anyone's life in the carpark. The guy with the guns ego was all that was threatened because Freddy wasn't scared of him.
