  2. Irony, you can't have police brutality if they shoot everyone lol. Kneeling on Floyd's neck was torture, they say, for almost 9 minutes! Would it have been 'better' if he'd died in 9/10ths of a second from a gunshot? Would that have been considered by the same people as less brutal? Certainly less suffering I'd thing, but he's still dead. Is it the end state or the method of arriving there that is the biggest problem here?

  3. By the same token there really is no epidemic of protesting, looting, or rioting in the US when you look at the problem in the context of the size of the country. There's almost 350 MILLION of us. It's why polling irks me. You ask 1200 people what they think and that's supposed to mean anything? If there were actual widespread protests, looting, and rioting, proportional to our actual population, there would be tens of millions of people doing it, not thousands or hundreds of thousands. If some issue really caught fire and had real broad support with everyday people, not activists and news junkies, it would be orders of magnitude larger than anything we've ever seen, and all the activists would probably be like "where did all these white people come from?!". We've never really seen anything like that in this country. For example, go look at some video of East Germany in 1989, they had legit protests where something like 1/10th of the entire population of the country, almost 2 million people, demonstrated at Alexanderplatz in East Berlin. Can you imagine like 35 million Americans gathering in DC on the Mall for a protest? I have a feeling it would be heard, but it would have to be something REALLY, ACTUALLY motivating.
