Lived in Missouri my entire life, I own a large property, and it's absolutely legal here for me to escort a trespasser off my property at gunpoint. I'm a reasonable person. Where I live north of St Louis there are landowners not so reasonable, where the warning shot if you're on their property will be the one that hits you. Under our current state law, the definition your 'home' extends to the property line.

  9. You can bet that an area like that has every inch under high quality audio and video surveillance, and the footage will come out. The fact the two are seasoned lawyers and that their public statement had several statements of fact in it leads me to believe that 1) they would not put anything in a prepared statement that they cannot prove, and 2) they most likely already have proof of such statements they can use if needed. If the protesters said they threatened to kill their dog, they probably have that on video. I can watch the protesters own video and see people walking off the street and onto their lawn after being told to leave. I would expect that we see members of the crowd in the coming weeks identified and prosecuted, at the very least civilly sued.

  10. Here's the problem, the 'followers' gave the mayor correspondence IN WRITING with their info on it. At that point it is public record. As a Missourian I could file an online form right now and have a copy of all of that by law probably within hours. It's a crime under our open records laws not to provide it. It's called transparency. I could publish all their names, no problem. Frankly, they're fucking idiots if they didn't know that and they doxxed themselves, unknowingly or otherwise. ANYTHING in writing you give any government official in MO is public, by law. I work for a small city running a water plant, and it's a crime for me to delete an email on a 'work' account, because 3 years from now, for example, any citizen could request some email I got about some bid for some project or job, and I fucking better have it or they can sic the State Attorney General on me.

In this state, MO, your 'home' is considered to be to the property line. A trespasser on your private street is no different than them being in your bedroom.
