Um, because it's not 2099, electric cars still only go barely across town before needing hours to charge, and their environmental impact via increased use of coal-natgas derived electricity is irresponsible. Once we transition from 1800s tech like solar and wind and fully build out new-gen fast breeder reactor nuclear, electric cars will lack feasibility and real utility that gas powered cars already offer and have for a century. These are realities the smartest among us realize. It's too bad ecoterrorists prevent new, safe, clean energy technologies and keep up dependent on coal, old-gen nuclear, and ancient wind/solar.

Ironic choice of words, what with all electric cars being dinosaur powered via coal and natural gas...

@rezboadog369 Cue all the people bitching about it being made in Kentucky, a Right to Work state because 'MAH UNIONZ!'

Even better to see them race from, say, St Louis to Denver. Even a shitbox would beat the Tesla. With the hours required to stop and charge it every few hundred miles, it would take a week to make that drive that even a 20 year old gas car can make in 12 hours with 1 fillup. We'd be done skiing and heading back to STL before the Tesla driver even checked into the hotel their first day.

@pro The vast majority of all professional racing...

I'll be down to drive an electric when I can charge it and drive 500 miles at the speed limit before I have to stop, just like I can already do in my 1996 Bmw 328...

Kinda of bad for the environment, have to fire up a dozen new coal plants a year just to cover these new electric cars, and the batteries they use poison millions of acres in the 3rd world. All to drive 1/3 as far as gas vehicles and take 100x longer to refuel each time.

@JohnBham79 Actually, I went to the GMC site, and a new 2019 Sierra with every possible option is $62k

@JohnBham79 Here: https://imgur.com/5vSg0nb Also, on that build, you have to remove the backup camera to add the $5000 technology package and infotainment system.

Yeah, but WHERE are you going to take it? Range limits and hours to 'refuel' each time are a bitch. get that recharge time down to gas pump speeds and get the range to at least 400 miles and electric will be taken seriously as transportation, not a track toy.
