  1. Obvious question, if I'm a childfree man, why do I need a stay at home wife? I'm a single childless (not childfree, huge difference) man, and my house is just fine sitting empty when I'm gone, I do my own household chores because I'm an adult...what would she do sitting all day? While I work? NOW, exception, my older sister never wanted or had children, she's happily married almost 30 years now, and they own/operate a very successful HVAC business, ans her full time job is managing the finances of that. Her husband's full time job is everything else, doing all the actual work stuff, and it works great, they both go into the office at 8am, leave at 5pm, and they're doing great. She'd go insane staying at home all day lol.

One of my older sisters worked for a local school district...turns out she thought their family was struggling so she embezzled tax money, and got busted, arrested at home, the whole deal, barely avoided prison. That's when it came out her husband, basically an adoptive father to me, my brother in law, revealed he had a sizable hidden savings account he'd been building his entire life that no one but him knew about, that he was keeping in reserve IN CASE they ever did actually struggle, BUT NOW it's gone because it had to go to fing restitution and legal fees. I love my sister and she's always been so responsible so it was a huge shock to the family, and was a felony conviction that changed her life, all for NO REASON. They didn't NEED the money...she WANTED the money, and was willing to steal it from kids, sheesh.

That's my dream. And that paragraph scares off every woman, they can't handle it. Too stable, too boring, no drama. I thought becoming wealthy would be the ticket to a great woman, nah, haven't seen it.

  7. Her making $90k is more than most people I've ever known, here in the Midwest that's upper upper upper middle class, that's 4 bedroom in a gated community and private schools money. I know people earning less than that with country club memberships. And that was just one income!

  9. Because the prenup would not allow such hidden money. Run your house like a business, cash controls, good bookkeeping, regular audits. People like her get scammed and end up losing everything, and probably won't even say anything. I've caught fraud in my finances from getting hacked that had I not been on top of my bills would have been a major problem, but I caught it in days by being vigilant. You'd be amazed how fast a scammer that gets your card number can max out your shit, I had it happen, called my card provider, while I'm on the phone they're like "Ok, yes, it's definitely fraud, they just tried to make those same charges several times per SECOND while we've been speaking on the phone, we'll just cancel all that..." It was like $1200 a minute they were changing on and off all day.

  13. My house isn't even in my name for those reasons, I don't want it getting taken in a divorce or lawsuit or anything. I'm one of those people worth quite a bit but on paper, in my name, I look broke. Insulated. Protected.

  14. If you are 'struggling' HOW do you have SAVINGS?! It drives me crazy, if you have debt at, say 6%, and you have cash savings earning say 3%, saving that money is LOSING you 3% constantly. You can't really have savings until you are debt free, OR you have cash parked earning more return than your debt is costing you. Use that free cash to attack your debt and get out from under interest FIRST. And that's not even accounting for inflation sapping your savings returns.

The sole acceptable scenario in all of that is if she's like "Babe, I may have siphoned off $47k of your money BUT before you react, look (snaps cashier's check) I invested it well and turned it into $90k, here's your $47k back, plus your half of the profits I made us, and I'm pocketing the other $21.5k. That I would get over lol. Hell I'd probably tell her to just keep that $21k and reinvest it.

  19. That was my thought, first why would I be married if I wanted no kids, like why? And two, with no kids what does a stay at home not-mom do? I run my home just fine as a single man working 50 hours a week. What would she be doing home all day, unless it's a WFH job? Make it make sense. Is she a wife or an employee on payroll?

My parents were married 59 years, and that whole time had a single checking account, and every month they sat down and did bills together and did their 'books' where they tracked each other's money in the check book, to the penny. She had her money, he had his, BUT until all expenses were fully paid they didn't pay themselves at all. If the bills and expenses left over nothing, they did with nothing. Now she's gone, I'm running the house for my 84 year old dad and it drives him crazy that I don't do that, I have everything on autopay and paid way in advance, it's all on autopilot. He's like how much money do I have, and I'm like enough...wait for what? I want to buy thing, it's almost $500...dad you had $30k in the bank last month, you just got paid again this month, don't worry about it. Me, I'm the type that's like do I have more in the bank than I anticipate spending, ok then really what does the number matter? I can imagine someone like Elon feeling that way, I want to buy Twitter, can I afford it? Oh I can afford to buy 3 twitters, ok so what the worry, add to cart, checkout. Why stress?

  22. If she's staying at home, not working, And child free, she better be earning at least $47k a year working from home, otherwise what is she doing? Cooking cleaning laundry takes an hour a day, I know, I'm a single man living alone working 50 hours a week, and my stuff is handled, plus a 100 acre working farm. If I can do that with no help, what's she contributing if not my kids? Why get married? Just a thing to do, lol?
