They're coming up on a century in operation, and the original seed money is still in their endowment, earning interest that is given to our elks lodges to be spent into the community as grants. They never touch the principle. When you donate you know that money you gave will still be working on your behalf another century from now. That endowment is approaching a billion dollars. This year my Elks lodge donated almost $3k we fundraised which is over our quota, so we'll be getting $15,000 in grants to use for community projects. The overhead for the ENF is low single-digits because it's all volunteer.

And I had an Argentinian friend who's grandparents fled there from Spain in the 30s who makes me look practically dark skinned by comparison.
