  2. That makes me trust and value his viewpoint MORE. He's lived it, not just talking about what he's heard. It's like how 99% of married men have told me to never get married, so I probably won't. Learning from others mistakes is how you avoid making mistakes. I don't have to start injecting heroin to know injecting heroin is a damaging behavior. I can get that information from people who used to inject heroin and stopped because it almost killed them.
