As a municipal government worker, talking to people is the most important thing, because things happen and people connect dots, and often they make incorrect conclusions because they don't know what's actually going on, and we have to remember that. "AW, I can't believe my local government is doing (thing) WTF?! Why are they doing that?!", so you explain to them the situation, the circumstances, the thought process and plan that went into and backed that final decision that they got to see, and very often that results in that resident responding "Oh...well that makes sense then, I didn't know all that. Good job dealing with that".

Trump is a father figure for a lot of people. For quite a while I've appreciated his encouraging style. I've been a fan since term 1, but in that Theo Von interview where he talked extremely candidly about the tragedy of watching his older brother go through addiction and losing him, it was very endearing.

People say that but I don't see it, HE'S ON THE F-ING NEWS lol. He's at galas. He's giving white house interviews. The socially awkward people I know I haven't seen in public for years lol. He seems pretty damn extroverted to me, HE HAS 13 KIDS! Socially awkward men in 2025 haven't SEEN a woman in 13 years. I guess it's all relative. He just seems REAL and not fake to me, but then again I know most socially in-awkward people fake the hell out of that. I hate talking to people, but talking AT people, I LOVE public speaking.

@eilabaca well luckily the fedgov has the best people already, I'm certain those workers can easily train the doge staff...or are those workers not up to that task, are they going to disappoint us? I'd expect seasoned, career experts with the expertise and knowledge to run these things to be able to explain things easily. I run a municipal water plant, astonishingly technical, and I could teach you how to operate it and audit it fully in a few days, but then again I'm a competent techno-expert so maybe I'm just better than these bureaucrats.

@felixbaez9355 here's the point you miss, they're still probationary so they HAVE NO PERFORMANCE, that's the point. If they had been there long enough not to be probationary, they'd be performing at a level to be hired fully. Where I work the probationary period was two years, and in that two years I could have been fired at any time, FOR ANY OR NO REASON, regardless of performance. NO JOB IS GUARANTEED, EVERYONE IS REPLACEABLE.

As a municipal worker going through my first federally funded project, holy hell has it been eye-opening. It's like a South Park episode level of parody to me. $250k project, and almost half that cost is going to the admin overhead of getting that money! To comply with the terms of the funding and federal regulations. A $50k sandblasting job is going to cost $90k because we have to pay our engineering/legal/construction management firm that extra $40k to sign off on the work of the sandblasters they're hiring! And of course it's all mandated to be union firms at prevailing wage which is like 50% higher than the area wages. The guys we're hiring will be making way more than me to do laboring, with my tax dollars. It's crazy. It's almost like it's (dawning realization) designed to churn, shuffle, and burn the most money possible.

The left has just never been able to understand a simple truth, hating Trump drives people to him. The more they hate on him, the more sympathetic it makes him look. Morgan Freeman had the answer when he said the cure for racism was to stop endlessly talking about racism. If the left et al had decided "Eh, we're going to ignore Trump and play with a different toy" it probably would have ended there. But no, they said, split those 10s, hit me, oh, I have 20 on both, HIT ME AGAIN, and again, and again, I know we're playing 21 and I have 60 but more cards now! It's time to stop, left. Get some help. BUT NO, deal the whole rest of the table in, max bet and HIT ME! Constitutional Crisis, Doge, Elon, BigBalls, more more more! The media is like a pitbull and we're trying to pull the Trump rope out of their mouth.

let me ask you this, what the fuck is a false claim? Is that the opposite of a TRUE claim? If it was a true claim it's not a claim at all, it's a fact. These terms alone make me lose all credulity with you. It's time to stop. A false claim is a misnomer, just say 'CLAIM'. It already implies uncertainty. If it was a proven claim that's called a truth. Language is a far more powerful tool than warfare, and I'm tired of it being subverted.

@felixbaez9355 that's another issue, because lawfare makes it hard to fire people, people are not getting hired at all. The risk of getting stuck with a bad employee is too big a risk.
