"I didn't sign up to be judged by someone unrelated to my job" Bruh, you LITERALLY did that in 99% of jobs. I run a water plant, I had to work 6 years ON TOP OF my bachelors to even get my license to have my job, and I could be fired tomorrow by a city council majority vote by people who are retirees making $500/month to be part time admins. My direct supervisor has never done my job for an hour in his 10 year career. the head of the LA water system, where the fires were, NEVER EVEN MADE WATER and had no treatment license, she was an engineer, zero experience. Your customers judge EVERY action you do on the job and have no relation to it. It's up to YOU to educate those people and YOU have to justify YOU.

"Why is Elon dressed like that?" Asmon asks, dressed like that.

I work in local government, I do a lot of state regulatory correspondence, if it's not a physical copy with a wet signature, it didn't happen. Now, they want a PRELIMINARY copy emailed AND FAXED, but none of those are actually valid until they get the signed hard copy in the mail. I've gotten violations that required us to notify all customers of because the physical copy didn't arrive within in the first 10 days of the new month, despite the same forms being emailed and faxed. That's just the law.

I hate how we're normalizing lack of capability. Oh, Tim Cook he's just the CEO of Apple, he has no idea what's happening with his employees, he's an idiot. You may be surprised. I remember when I worked for the University of Missouri, something like 30,000 employees, we got a new Chancellor who was a former CEO of Sprint/Nextel. He took a $1 a year salary and came and met EVERY employee, visited every department, every computer lab, every classroom. Because it was his JOB to do that.

Meanwhile these workers are literally SUING the government for this. It's insane.

TWO tasks...registered 400 items, then wrote this report about registering said items.

Take me for example, I'm a municipal government worker, and I don't even live in the city or even the county I work in. My salary is 100% exported from their local economy, and imported into mine.

But DOGE is going to get your sensitive data! If it's that sensitive I don't want the fedgov having it either!

RIGHT BUT, that means it'll be easy to explain and justify yourself. Your argument works against you. If they're already doing that, just hit forward and you're done. Takes 10 seconds. Instead they're filing lawsuits to not have to participate in these KPI reports. YOU have the responsibility to explain your role. YOU have the experience to do that. If you can't explain what you do to a layman and justify you being there, say in 100 words or less, gtfo. Let's get someone who CAN. This argument took more time than it would have to comply with the email.

She's a strong and independent wealthy woman, what's her deficiency? Is she a bad mom, does DFS have to step in and remove that kids to the safety of the father's custody?

Especially if you no longer have said job because you failed to check your work email. It's a self-correcting glitch!

I wish we could act more grown up by not judging people based on their personal off the clock behavior. YOU can start that improvement with your own actions.

If you're too stupid to write 5 generic points from 5 days of working, even if it's cleaned the office, I don't want you involved in natsec, leo, or anything worthwhile. If they're incapable of being vague how can they operate.? I'm a municipal employee, decade of service, you have to know hoie to write a report that's pages long and says nothing, don't these fedgov LEARN anything? ALSO, my boss sends me an email at 0300 on a Sunday, I'll wake up at 0800 to a text message asking why I haven't replied. Followed by a phone call shortly. It's the job.

I run a water plant. Even when nothing special is going on, my men have a full page checklist to dry-erase checkoff every, single, day. That way nothing falls through the cracks. Granted some it is things like clock in, make coffee, tidy up area, cleaning assignment, at the end of the day they can look at that and go wow I did a LOT today, and made a million gallons of drinking water.

Yep, that's been the case for years now, the inversion of pay, used to be the private sector was where you made bank and government paid shit. Now the private sector isn't even hiring and fedgov jobs start at 6 -figures. Makes sense the private sector can't compete, THEY HAVE NO US DOLLAR PRINTING ABILITY.
