My boss, the mayor of our town, last year told me in response to a question, "Well, I've only been in office TWO YEARS, there's only so much I can do.." and I replied IN two years we can take over an entire country, you can't change one ordinance and some time off policies in the handbook, what ARE you doing? His office got new paint, he got that done...

  4. Good. For too long we've lived by the doctrine "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" and it's gotten us to a place where the entire world is both our enemy, AND dependent on us. We're taking retirement from the World Police. Let the rest of the planet deal with some problems for once, we have work to do at home. It makes no sense for USAID spend a PENNY outside the US while Americans are starving and shitting in the streets.

  5.  @Goodgu3963  The messed up viewpoint is letting those kids in undocumented, while I as a natural born citizen had to be documented. It has to be equal. My kid has no social security number, he's F-ED, these immigrants don't, special treatment. The only thing that makes overbearing government tolerable is if everyone suffers under it the same.

  7. The reverse deadman's switch is called a 'warrant canary' in the tech world. Every day a tech company publishes a post, "hey, we did NOT get a national security letter silencing us today!" Then the day they DO get that letter is when the warrant canary posts stop, and you know they're compromised. It's illegal to tell people you got a national security warrant, but it's not illegal to stop telling people you didn't.

  8. As a landowning taxpayer, I'm ready to go to my school board meeting and say F THAT. I graduated from that school district, people I went to high school sit on that board, I KNOW THEY KNOW BETTER THAN THAT CRAP, and I'd campaign against any future tax increases, funding, or bond measures they want if they aid and abet illegal criminal immigrants.
