All hospital systems here in the Midwest ban smoking entirely, at or away from work. I used to work for a very large, very famous refrigeration manufacturing co here in the Midwest that REALLY discouraged smoking, to the point that if you smoked and quit, they'd pay you to go to therapy, pay for all your quit help like patches and gum, and pay you a large bonus for staying nicotine free. If you didn't smoke anyway, you got nothing special, no anything.

  5. No video has ever been NON-monetized. Ads have always ran regardless. Demonitized just means you f-ed up and forfeited your share of the ads that go on your video regardless. Just take solace in the fact that the bandwidth costs more than any content creator is getting paid. You have a viral video, say it gets 50 million views and is 10 min, that's over 8 million hours of HD video hosting, that would cost you mid-six-figures in the commercial hosting market. Youtube PAYS you that for free by allowing your tiktok crosspost to play. I have zero empathy for people stealing my time with ads for their profit, including 'creators'.

  6. Honestly I'm kind of excited to see something remove nearly all the corrupting money from youtube, at last. Maybe it'll go back to the days before monetization, where people made whatever content they wanted and no one forced themselves into making whatever was trendy at that second, for money. In the good days of youtube, your payment for your content was the ability to have it hosted and seen by millions without you having to pay a fortune to a hosting provider. Youtube paid you by letting you upload content for free. At that time that was revolutionary. The google bought it and it's been giant channel monetary corporate merch selling garbage since then. No one should be making more than minimum wage here, because no one should be paying to watch your content, and by being advertised to and raped by data collection, we pay quite dearly. Also, with no money on the line, you can't be threatened over your content's content. Say expletives, be controversial, fuck brands and families, you'd probably get a bigger audience. But it should never be about the money. Some of the best channels on youtube, with the highest quality content, refuse to monetize and have never made a dime.

  9. I was a test audience member who watched Tomorrow War back in August 2020, while it was still in production. I thought it was ok, but did have some time travel plot holes. I'd have to watch it again now because in almost a year they probably did rewrites and reshoots. That's what focus group test audiences (and the HUGE long ass questionnaire after it) are for. It DID actually spur me to go buy a HERA CQR front grip for my AR-15, as they had a ton of rifles with those in it and they look awesome...didn't really like it though.   11. I'd counter that the vast majority of hookups lead to relationships. I've known most of my friends this happens to. Me and so and so finally did it, they'll say. Congrats, man! 6 months later, hey we're getting married! Hey we have a kid! Hey can we hang out the wife is divorcing me and taking the house and kid...yes AGAIN I know. I know one guy from high school with 4 kids by 4 different women, never been married, and was with a new chick and had nothing to do with the others last time I knew. Anyway, I always keep in mind that Jeremy and Tim ARE employees of youtube, and that colors their views on any portion of this topic. YES, if you take a penny from ads or monetization, you are employed by that entity paying you. Just how it is. My account/channel dates to November 2007, and I've never hosted an ad, never taken monetization, and don't think anyone should.
