What really awakened a lot of people was seeing all the appeals to authority being pushed by everyone, listen to doctors, trust all doctors, doctors are god, believe in the science...EXCEPT when DR Rand Paul makes statements as a qualified medical doctor, those same authority appealers will say don't listen to him, don't trust him! Can't have it both ways.
