  2. Go watch Shiey's very recent video where they take the same tour, except illegally sneaking in, you'll see some real radiation. They walked in through the Red Forest and encountered some pretty high readings.

  3. As long as it's a barrier to your skin becoming contaminated by possible particles, it's 100% effective, similar to a condom lol. Of course it does not stop absorption of gamma radiation or most beta radiation, it will stop alpha. Best way to deal with contamination is to not get things on you/in you, hence the suit, foot coverings, mask. Absent those, they could have done a decontamination shower and full scrub/clothes disposal afterward and probably been no worse for wear. It's when you get materials on you or ingested/inhaled and don't know about it to deal with it quickly that serious risk happens.

  4. Now imagine how LOUD it would be where you're standing when it was in operation, with water cascading down those walls like a crashing waterfall and concentrated/echoed by the shape. It would be deafening.
