This was no surprise to me, I predicted this as soon as the 'lockdowns' started. Not only are people locked inside getting tired of each other, but 'hookup culture' is on hold. Workplaces are closed so there is no office chad, no cheating with the secretary, no traveling for work and shacking up with a random stranger or coworker on the road. The bars and concerts are closed and canceled, no one is getting picked up for a night of fun or making bad decisions lol. No college parties, no high school young love. Even with dating apps, people were too afraid to bang because they were scared into thinking they might get covid. When you take all the 'accidental' and 'surprise' and 'how could this happen' babies out of the picture, the birth rate will drop quite a bit.

Adoption is MORE expensive than having your own kids, with the minus of not being your offspring.

In these comments: LOTS of people naturally selecting to strengthen the species and gene pool by choosing not to have children. They're just going to leave raising kids to the wealthy, successful, and elite.
