  2. Wow, I had no idea so many people would find calling anyone 'babe' an issue. Half the men I know, and most of the women, call their significant other by babe, or hun. Calling someone 'babY' with a Y would be super weird. That's more popular in 'urban' culture, such as in the term 'baby mama'.
