@shania991 Here's the problem with thinking that, it means they're GOOD PEOPLE. They're projecting their own logic and reason on your abuser. Someone who is NOT an abuser would have to ask why is this person abusing you, what CAUSED it, because to them/us, SOMETHING had to be a cause, good non-abusive people don't accept that things just HAPPEN and 'that's just how that person is, they abuse for no reason'.
So don't be so quick to blame that person asking what caused the abuse, it just means they are not abusive. They would not do what your abuser is doing EXCEPT in reaction to something that legitimately would warrant that response.
It's just like how people that would never cheat on their partner ALMOST ALWAYS get cheated on by their partners, because they can't imagine someone else cheating because they would not.
It's like how someone who is not a murderer can't understand why someone else would murder.
I have zero clue why the abuser in this movie would act the way he does. It seems like way too much effort and work for no payoff lol. It's not like he's doing all this to his ex to get her money or get her back, and he's wealthy, he could have a way better wife that actually wants him and forget about her, move on.

I'll always remember in high school marching band, at a competition standing at attention for a parade for HOURS, watching people in my section and the section in front of me pass out and faceplant on the concrete, and think "That's why you bend your knees now and then, don't keep them locked, you gotta try harder!"
We were the best in our region and earned shelves of trophies the two years of Jr High and 3 years of high school I did it, including a season as lead drum major my Junior year. I played clarinet and tenor sax, and snare drum to fill in if needed, and it was VERY character building...now at almost 42 years old, I still hear the drumline marching cadence blasting in my ears when I need motivation, we had an awesome one, heavy on the bass drums, you could hear in a parade echoing down the street for blocks.
I also did basketball pep band, and some all-conference ensemble and solo, and concert jazz band, but those were more class requirements, marching was my real passion. We didn't have a football program so we never did those big synchronized moving field shows.

General Pikalov's leadership is what I was always taught, lead from the front and people will follow.
My Dept Director at work hates when I do that, we have some dangerous confined space work, you shouldn't be going in there, you're a supervisor and you're the only person licensed and able to do your job...to which I reply If I'm not willing to go in then no one else is going in either.
As a Chief Operator and facility manager, I see my job like a ship's captain, I should know every inch, every space, every bolt and hole of my ship, and I have over a decade of doing it. That's how you reassure and inspire new personnel when they're apprehensive about a large maintenance job, I've done it a dozen times, it'll go like this, this is what to expect, here are the risks, here's what's gone wrong before and how we prevent it, be careful and there's little to worry about, lets go.
