  4. I think sometimes synthetic oil makes an old worn engine too clean and actually messes it up because carbon build up and sludge help maintain internal oil pressure.

  6. You should be saying, “If people could buy base model cars, prices of cars would be much cheaper. Since many dealers won’t sell base models, you’ll be stuck with buying more expensive car. Especially today, with chip shortages, dealers only order fully loaded cars.”

  7. Hydrogen makes no sense. It will always be difficult to handle. It’s takes either natural gas or a lot of electricity to produce. Using natural gas would make sense.

  8. Nothing is over complicated if the right group of people work on it. A couple vehicles were literally dropped on Mars and lasted way beyond their minimum design specs.

  9. Very warn old engines need sludge to block leaks and maintain oil pressure. Sometimes cleaning out sludge can destroy an old worn engine.

  10. jothain Happened to me many years ago. I had an old dirty car engine and after putting in new clean oil, it hardly could run and all sorts of mechanical noises. I used a heavy oil additive for old engines and the engine worked better again. It could have been many things like the guides around valves, worn rings, worn bearings, worn oil pump, etc.

  11. So true, slightly pressing the gas pedal on my Turbocharged Honda CR-V suddenly goes into turbo boost and sucks gas anywhere except on the highway

  12. Keep doing what you're doing as long as it works. A switch could be fatal to an old high mileage engine.

  14. My 2017 CRV CVT is really great. It would be hard to go back to a transmission that shifts gears.
