@deborahasher176 That's true. I don't understand why they can't see that what Trump did is akin to the slander laws. Truth is adequate defense against slander. Seeking an investigation into Barisma can not be for personal gain if the Bidens committed a crime. That kind of in depth and complex investigation should be done in Committee, not on the floor of the Senate.

@tjw1861 Here's the bottom line truth. If the Bidens committed a crime, Trump gets acquitted. That would throw 'personal gain' out the window. Without personal political gain there's no case, no matter what Bolton says.

@tjw1861 This highlights the Democrats blunder. By impeaching Trump, they brought Biden's crime to the forefront in an election year. Now, once again, the DNC will have to sabotage Bernie and Bloomberg (a Republican) will be the nominee.

@tjw1861 Zelensky had only been President and controlled his parliament for one month. An announcement was all he could do at that time. Given the attention span of the American electorate, do you really think that an announcement from Ukraine one year and four months before our election would make a difference?

@willkittwk I agree. But Biden can't get nominated because of his corruption. The DNC won't allow Sanders because they don't want to be tagged as communists. Everyone else will run out of money. That only leaves Bloomberg. None of them can beat Trump anyway, so Democrats have to go for the Senate.

@allansboys Courage is not necessarily a good thing. Many caliphate supporting suicide bombers are considered courageous. You need to be smart enough to see where your strategy is going. This impeachment is going nowhere. It's just a forum for anti-Trump rhetoric.

@tjw1861 Comey's announcement was an 'October Surprise'. I don't know what he was thinking. Comey seems to be a derailed individual. Anyway; at the time of Trump's request, Zelensky couldn't do more than announce an intent to investigate. Truth is a defense for slander. If the Bidens are guilty then Trump is innocent. Only the Democrats blunder of impeaching Trump brought Biden's crimes to the forefront in an election year. House Managers repeatedly said, "President Trump attempted to extort Ukraine into a sham investigation of a debunked theory for personal political gain." If the investigation is not a sham, and the theory is not debunked, then there is no personal political gain. More witnesses won't change that.
