Comments by "Benjamin Allen" (@benjaminallen105) on "Trump expected to be optimistic during State of the Union despite impeachment vote" video.
In his speech Tuesday Night, Trump should say, "Nice of you all to join me here on acquittal-eve."

@halisee7170 Nothing sticks to Trump. He's teflon.

@halisee7170 You guys still don't understand him. All you can do is project. Trump Doesn't Care! He's been in and out of court so many times in his life he should have his own door. There's no stain on his legacy, he just loves winning. Winning is, walking across a football field to the chants of USA, and filling coliseums to overflow. That doesn't come from his 'charming personality' or 'moral compass', that comes from the success of America.

@halisee7170 Nothing you've said diminishes our unprecedented growth in all demographics. It's obvious you don't like him personally, and I don't know how good a job he's done as President of the World, but he's been a great POTUS.

@halisee7170 Don't be sorry. Thank You for an honest debate! That's rare these days, especially in social media which consists mostly of name-calling. Thank You also for saying that personality is irrelevant. That was something I had trouble accepting in the `90's when Clinton (with a Republican Congress) turned out to be a decent President. As U.S. Army, Retired, I've traveled the world and seen first-hand the difference of opinion about the U.S. between foreign citizens and their Governments. Due to international posturing, public statements by politicians rarely reflect the opinions of their citizens. My comment about "President of the World" was meant as a comparison between Trump and Globalists like Obama. Unfortunately, American popular opinion is still greatly shaped by mainstream media which is decidedly liberal. The poles that purport to show what the American public is thinking are vastly inaccurate. Democrats who live in the bubble of major cities, always underestimate the size and population of the South and Mid-West. I too appreciate and respect your views, but I think they're distorted by the media.

@halisee7170 Good Comment. That is at the heart of the matter isn't it.? Can We Trust The American Public? Your reference to social media as a barometer is understandable. I too deplore the polarization there. Be assured that what you see does not reflect the Heartland. Unless you've driven from town to town across this country, there's no way to appreciate the number of Conservatives that aren't counted, and they're not far right-wing like you see here. They're disillusioned Democrats. Eight years of Obama and talk of Socialism has brought them out of the woodwork, and they're still coming. These are good people and I trust them. "Constitutional Basis" is my argument. In every historical case of impeachment, witnesses had already been deposed by House investigation. The Constitution says that "IMPEACHMENT is tried in the Senate", not the President. Investigation is the purview of the House. New witnesses that haven't been deposed by the House would constitute investigation. Impeachment investigation is done in Committee by the House, not on the floor of the Senate. Democrats in the House need to get their s**t together and present articles that are actually impeachable. I don't think that's possible. Neither do the Democrats. This whole thing has been a forum for anti-Trump rhetoric in an election year.

@halisee7170 I agree about interpretation of the Constitution. I'm a 'Strict Constructionist'. I believe that view assigns more power to the people and less to Government (and the deep state bureaucracy). I'm an optimist and I believe in the American People. Our worst years have always been when we trust the Government to do the right thing.
