Probably it's because DURING the peace talks, Turkey decided to invade AGAIN, for a second time, and occupy a much bigger part of the country making it imposible to go back to peaceful coexistence for the next 50 years. You can google it, if you don't believe me. That kind of gives a general impression of how Turks understand peace talks when they can invade and get away with it. And show how much they can be trusted when they claim they are interested in peace. And there is a proof of that: Cypriots for the next 50 years didn't make any attempt to get back the turkish occupied but NOT RECOGNIZED parts of the north. LEt's compare it to what azeri Turks did to Nagorno-Karabakh to recapture their UN recognized borders. The similarity between Cyprus and Nagorno -Karabakh is very obvious. And even more obvious is the difference in mentality between Turks and Europeans, in how to deal with problems. It's as black and white as one can imagine: it's the difference between life and death.

Didn't your minister say happily that "Europeans will freeze whil Turks are having russian gas"? Turks didn't take part in WW2, but when they saw that Germany is losing they imediately declared war against Germany 😂 They will problably do the same for the Russian vs Ukraine conflict. They are just waiting to see who will win. For the rest, Turkey is constantly at war with someone and it's always someone else's fault. No news there.

Then I see the opposition leader saying "only we can take back the islands" and I'm totally convinced about their peaceful intentions. I watch what they did to Syria. They invaded, and built schools to educate young Syrians how to do the gray wolf gesture and praise the turkish flag. If that's not peaceful coexistence I don't know what is! Northern Iraq is a place where the turkish army just comes and goes as if borders don't exist for them. Another proof of extreme friendliness and peace. "s long as they don't get poked " Unfortunately for all their neighbours, Turks are very easilly offended, especially when their neighbours are having difficult times and they can't defend themselves. That's the definition of peaceful nation in turkish dictionaries. I won't comment further on Cyprus issue, everyone can google that the SECOND invasion happened DURING PEACE TALKS. Which shows exactly what turks think about diplomacy when they feel they can win a war.

I don't have to even comment on the long historical ties and friendship between Turkey and Russia. Please do that in my lifetime! It will be awesome to witness it!
