@TheBelrick I am really hoping this is an example of Poe's Law. If not, you're the biggest idiot I've seen on the Internet this week, and that's saying quite a lot.

It's not so much that Paul turned against what he believed in, it's more that what he launched turned into something he had never believed in, and he doesn't turn his back on his responsibilities, he devotes his life to putting his society on a better path. When he finally does abdicate his throne and his life, it's not out of despair and disillusionment, it's out of recognition that he has accomplished all he will be able to do and out of respect for Fremen tradition, and also in order to secure the legitimacy of his son's rule.

@withnailsghost9999 Which is how Paul should look. IIRC he was all of 15 when the novel begins. One of GoT's major casting flaws was making all the 12-to-14-year-olds in the book young adults, and in the case of the boys (apart from Joffrey) fully grown and physically imposing ones. One of the important themes for the first few ASoIaF books which was completely lost in the show was the lack of anything like our concept of adolescence in that society and the challenges thrust onto young people forced into adult roles at an age when they'd be in junior high school in our society.

Watched the Expanse at all? They not only eat and drink their recycled waste, they eat food grown with recycled human corpses as fertilizer. Air, water, and organic material are worth more than any precious metal in the asteroid belt.
