@kurtwollermann2210 Robert Goddard started the space race. They all laughed at him, but the NY Times was eventually compelled to print a retraction of their ridicule - on July 20, 1969. Werner von Braun, who was inspired by Goddard and was a lot more interested in scientific research than building weapons, allegedly said after the first successful combat launch of the V-2, "The rocket was a success in every way except that it landed on the wrong planet." He, too, was able to update this statement on the same date in 1969. Sadly, Goddard lived to see his work used to slaughter civilians in London, but not to see it land men on another world.

i can understand why people are attracted to the extreme irony of "Hitler was 1/4 Jewish," but sadly, the evidence simply doesn't bear this out.
