  1.  @JohnSmith-mh1mp  The Scharnhorsts were designed with the capability to up-gun the triple 11" turrets to dual 15" turrets, but Hitler never approved spending the money to do so - probably wisely, the 11" guns were plenty for commerce raiding and killing cruisers, and the numerical advantage of the RN meant the German ships would never have any business slugging it out with battleships, all of which they could outrun.
