In behaviour at least, those who pass for 'Grandees' in what, despite compelling evidence to the contrary, is still called the 'Conservative' Party, resemble very much the leading figures in the nazi party huddled around their leader in his bunker in March & April, 1945. They are all seemingly jostling for power, whilst totally oblivious of the fact that it is no longer available, and will soon vanish completely.

@pip1723 As best I can recall. Thatcher did not permit uncontrolled immigration. Nor did she politicise the 'impartial' Civil Service. She didn't even manage to get Britain into a war in the Middle East on the basis of false claims about WMD, as 'Sir' Tony did. Still, on the bright side, Blair made plenty of money out of the deaths of a few hundred thousand nobodies, didn't he?
