@personalcheeses8073 Unfortunately, the perception of Welby is that he has very little concern for Christians. I suggest that the C of E rather lost any sense of direction when it failed to appoint Sentamu as Archbishop of Canterbury, but chose instead a politician.

As Britain has a population density twice as large as all but one of the major western European countries, and even Belgium is barely above 50%, couldn't it be argued that Britain has already taken in more than could be expected of a small island nation? Have you seen the Cabin Scene in 'A Night at the Opera?' Is that what you recommend?

In terms of population per square mile, Britain is twice as populated as any other major Western European country other than Belgium. Even Belgium, by the way, is only around 55-60% of the British figure.

@davidpaterson2309 perhaps, but Sentamu was a clergyman first, and a politician a distant second. Welby comes across as a politician, to whom faith, whether he actually has any or not, seems incidental.

@Rob You are being unfair. I am sure Welby worries deeply about the issue, as he eats fine meals prepared for him by his cook and served by his domestic staff, in the hovel called Lambeth Palace.

@83c91 You don't seem to be able to muster any coherent argument. Just a tedious series of pious platitudes. Those landing illegally in the United Kingdom have indeed broken in. If I found that someone had illegally broken into my home, I would expect that person to be expelled from it and arrested.
