  2. Tsar Nicholas II thought that sending troops onto the streets of St. Petersburg would put an end to the disturbances. How did that turn out? Starmer needs to grasp, and quickly, that his unwise speech has simply thrown petrol onto a smouldering fire. When he stated that he regarded the vast majority of people in this country as 'extreme right wing thugs' did it not occur to him that, by denying those who believed that they had legitimate worries about the direction of the country the right to voice these concerns, he was giving the real tiny minority of actual 'right wing thugs' the sort of impetus that, in their wildest dreams, they could never have expected?

  3. 'We could bring the army in?' Who is this 'we?' The only person who could bring the army in is Starmer, the very person whose desperately unwise speech largely created this situation in the first place. Bringing the army in worked well for Nicholas II in St. Petersburg, didn't it?
