I don't recall the apology being mentioned on BBC's news programmes yesterday. Perhaps the sad death of George Alagiah gave them an opportunity to 'bury bad news' or am a being cynical?

@derekcable Alas, Sunak says a lot of things, but doesn't actually carry through anything he has said.

@julianpetkov8320 I am sure that you will now explain why, then, both the CEO of NatWest (who will doubtless soon resign in exchange for a peerage) and the BBC have now apologised. Do these people usually apologise for not doing anything wrong?

Perhaps someone will do a deal? Tell her that, if she resigns, she can have a Peerage. Isn't that what usually happens to such people?

Odd that the vaunted BBC Verify didn't pick up on it? No, of course it wasn't!

@derekcable No. I didn't miss that, but what I wrote is unchanged. What Sunak says and what he does tend to be diametrically opposed.

@23715 Odd how people attack him because of his political opinions. I would like to believe that most honourable people would have felt exactly the same about what happened to Farage had it happened to Jeremy Corbyn. I did write, 'honourable' by the way.

@nickmaclachlan5178 True, but that is merely the equivalent of a knighthood. To cash in fully, I expect she would require the next one up, which would see her beome a Baroness, with entry into the House of Deadlegs, with all the perks thus entailed.

@Roz-y2d You think that we peasants will be able to stop it?
