  1. From what I observed, she was simply spouting a series of headings from the pad in front of her. Frankly, a Mynah Bird could have done a similar job, and much more cheaply.

The BBC yesterday reporting this event didn't quite have presenters in mourning dress and wearing black armbands, whilst solemn martial music played in the background, but I suspect that they came rather close. My impression is that her decision is akin to Captain Smith handing over command of Titanic to Chief Officer Wilde 90 minutes after her disagreement with the iceberg. Except, of course, that Smith didn't have a nice comfortable new non-job lined up.
