@jamescarr1467 Alternatively, read about HMS Bulldog and U110, then read about HMS Petard and U559, for details of the U-Boats captures which were really important where Enigma was concerned.

@wayneyd2 Petard's capture of U559 was critical in that it gave Bletchley Park, in October, 1942, access to the four rotor Enigma, together with code books & settings. The British were careful to publicise the sinkings of both U110 & U559, and to keep survivors well away from other German PoWs. Petard is unique in WW2 as the only Allied destroyer to participate in the sinking of submarines from all three axis powers, as a matter of interest.
