  2. The concept itself was not flawed, but the manner in which the ships were used was. As someone pointed out at the time, 'because they look like battleships, they will be used as battleships.' Invincible & Inflexible performed well at the Falklands. Had battlecruisers been used as intended, to drive away enemy scouting cruisers and themselves scout for the main battlefleet, they would have performed well.
