  1. Presumably, you believe that the U-Boat was not where it was for anything other that the kindest and most noble of reasons. In early 1940 the battleships Scharnhorst & Gneisenau left over 2000 survivors from a British carrier and two destroyers to die in the North Sea. Was this, do you consider, 'Typical German Treachery.' Why not try looking up 'war' in a dictionary?

  2. Why was his action cowardly? His first duty was to his own ship and crew. Incidentally, Roper was able to detect the U-Boat in the first place because she was fitted with (British) Type 286 search radar.
